People in Oklahoma are almost as heavily armed as people in Texas. The bad guys haven't gotten that memo. NW OKC Homeowner Shoots, Kills Alleged Intruder
The owner and a neighbor were fixing the home up to make look better and be more secure.
The owner left and came back to the home around 8 p.m. Wednesday night and that was when he caught the alleged burglar.
“The occupant confronted the burglary and at some point, there was a confrontation,” said MSgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “The resident ended up shooting and ultimately killing the burglar.”
And the neighbors were not shocked. (Oklahoma being neither California nor New Jersey.)
Neighbors said it was tragic a person died but they believed the owner was justified in shooting the intruder.
“He had all rights to be there anytime he wants to,” said Jacobs. “If somebody breaks in over there he has a right to defend himself.”
Self-defense is a Human-right, and Oklahoma has this thing called the "Make My Day" law.
It should be noted that “make my day” laws DO NOT allow for you to walk into a place of business and shoot multiple people just because your coffee has sugar in it.
The pesky law of unintended consequences. Politicians still haven't been able to repeal it. The hidden Covid-19 health crisis: Elderly people are dying from isolation
So the governors of New York and Michigan and wherever sent infected people to nursing homes causing extra deaths, and then they isolated people from their families, causing even more deaths. Is there anything they missed?
The effort to shield elderly, frail and disabled residents from the coronavirus has created another wrenching health crisis: The confinement meant to protect the most vulnerable is also threatening their lives.
“The isolation is robbing them of whatever good days they have left — it accelerates the aging process,” Joshua Uy, associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, said.
There aren't that many deaths listed as due to isolation, but that is, in part, because there is more emphasis on COVID-19, but it apparently clear that the lockdown is having a detrimental effect on peoples' lives. (Hat tip)
This was a favorite song in the 80s, mostly because of what clubs I associated it with. (Though most were playing the instrumental/dance version that was uninteresting.) So when I tripped across this, I had to include it. I even (mostly) like it. I mean, Ministry and violins? Who would have thought that would be a thing?
The original mix can be found at this link.
This is "Halloween (Acoustic)" by Ministry. It was released as a single in 2019. And yes, it usually is listed as "(Every Day Is) Halloween"
I think it still means that we are hosed vis-à-vis Big Tech and Free Speech. After 16 Days of Censorship, Twitter Unlocks the New York Post’s Account
Not that this means Twitter is now an honest company — they’re not — but this is a tacit admission of their dishonesty, and I suppose that after the election we’ll learn that Twitter’s censorship was ordered by the executives at behest of the Biden campaign.
Actually I think we will eventually learn that Twitter execs and Twitter employees don't believe in the USA, in Free Speech, or in Democracy, and that they did all of this because they feel like the Ends Justify the Means. It is what Communists always tell themselves as they are standing over the bodies of millions of people who disagreed with them.

Being convinced we are utterly doomed is a source of tranquility.

An unknown person in Columbia, S.C., submitted at least 54 new voter applications in July in the same neat handwriting to the Broward elections office, several in each of 19 envelopes. Many of the voters were elderly, and had recently died in the Northeast.
No voter fraud? Not for lack of trying.
Though officials said no mail-in ballots were requested or cast under the falsified voter IDs, the scheme exposes weaknesses in Florida’s voter registration process, which relies partially on the honor system.
Honor? Among politicians?
Though some of that is included... I hope you have an enjoyable weekend, even if everything has been canceled.

Last I checked, City-Journal was NOT part of the Vast Right Wing Consipriacy. Anarchy in New York?
It’s true that New York City wouldn’t be confused for Tegucigalpa or Mogadishu. And its violent crime rate, while soaring, is still much lower than that of Baltimore or St. Louis, for instance. But comparing New York today with the New York of even a few years ago makes clear that the city is undergoing a serious fracturing of civic order—one trending toward further disintegration.
If you make something cheaper you will see more of it, and the powers that be have made crime and lawlessness cheaper. At least for the criminals.
The article follows how a person with an extensive criminal record was released immediately after threatening a stranger with a loaded crossbow.
It is worth your time. Can it be that at least some journalists are waking to the Truth?
All this may not amount to “anarchy,” in a purist’s sense of the word. But it isn’t the New York City that Bill de Blasio inherited, either.

It would seem that Jews are not welcome at a BLM protest, under penalty of violence. BLM mob violently chases Jewish men showing ‘solidarity’ at Philadelphia protest

And there is violence. Here is the video so you can judge for yourself.

I don't like wearing masks, but I do wear them. This reaction is insane. Bond Denied For Sisters Accused of Stabbing Store Employee 27 Times Over Mask Request
They were asked to wear masks. They were asked to use hand sanitizer. In short, they were asked to behave like polite adults, and have a modicum of respect for their fellow citizens. It was apparently too much to ask.
According to Cook County prosecutors, upon their arrival, the victim asked the Hill sisters to put on masks and use hand sanitizer to help protect against the spread of COVID-19. But the pair refused and an argument turned violent when Jessica Hill allegedly pulled out a concealed knife.
The sisters were seen striking him with a trash can before Jayla Hill held the man by his hair and Jessica Hill stabbed him repeatedly, according to prosecutors. They then continued the assault by allegedly kicking him as he fell to the ground.
He was stabbed 27 times. The sisters are held without bail on attempted murder charges.
A defense attorney representing the sisters said her clients had no criminal background. Both graduated from Chicago Public Schools in recent years and are college-bound.
Yeah, I believe that. Or maybe he couldn't come up with any other reason they aren't in school, and they aren't employed. And they now officially have a criminal record.

There was a story about this incident on Active Self-Protection (link below), but now we are getting some additional information on what happened.
Oh, and this story reinforces the fact that when seconds count, police are minutes away. Probably about 10 minutes from the 1st 911 call, but 6 minutes after the hero took care of business.

[Father]: I was told my son was there and may have gotten involved with a guy, possibly even fighting the guy?
Clerk: Is your son tall and strong with black hair?
[Father]: Yes!
Clerk: Oh my God sir, your son…he was…your son…was…was…awesome. There was an evil man here with an evil laugh trying to kidnap some kids. He didn’t care about anyone. He was hurting people. We were throwing bottles at him and nothing was working. He beat us up really bad. We knew the police were a long ways away and we knew this man was going to take the kids because we couldn’t stop him. As soon as I realized the kids were in danger and the evil was going to win, the door opened up and your son walked in. He didn’t hesitate. He jumped in, overpowered this man, and held him down until the police got there.
[Father]: Do you know where my son is?
Clerk: I’m sorry, I don’t. He left after talking to the police.
The video at the link above is not awful. And not too long.

Investigators say the homeowner encountered and shot the alleged burglar.

Oh, and New Yorkers are shocked - Shocked! - to discover the armed self-defense might be legal. New York’s ‘Castle Doctrine’ and how it applies to homeowner-burglar shooting in Webster.
Legal expert Albert Parisi says a homeowner can’t just shoot someone on their property in any instance, but if that person breaks into your home, threatens your life, or that of your family, then deadly force is warranted under New York state’s so called “Castle Doctrine,” legally known as Section 35.20: Justification; use of physical force in defense of premises and in defense of a person in the course of burglary
Self-defense is a human-right. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
But then I thought it was. Greeley police: August shooting that left 2 dead was self-defense
Police have worked closely with the Weld District Attorney’s Office, and both agencies declined criminal charges after reviewing all the evidence.
“The shooter has an affirmative defense of self-defense,” police wrote in a news release. “A person is allowed to use deadly force if he reasonably believes lesser force is inadequate, and he believes he is in danger of death or great bodily injury.”
Self-defense is a Human-right.

I missed this bit of news in June. I was sorry to hear that. Obituary: Ian Holm. Born September 12, 1931, and died, June 19, 2020. He was 88 years old
His illness was Parkinson's-related, his agent confirmed.
He is most known for playing the old Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's adaptations of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. What a lot of people don't know is that he played the part of Frodo Baggins in the 1981 BBC Radio adaptation of Lord of the Rings. That was 26, thirty-minute episodes on 13 cassette tapes. Which I listened to on many a car trip. I finally donated them to my local library decades ago. There is a version available on either CD, or elsewhere I understand. (Audible?)
Holms also played the android Ash, in the original 1979 movie Alien.
I guess the media was too wound in COVID-19 in June to notice.
Governor No Fun. The Grinch Who Stole Thanksgiving
No over the river and through the woods in California this year. At least not for larger families.
Governor Gavin Newsom’s Department of Health has issued an updated “Guidance for Private Gatherings” in time for Thanksgiving. Basically, fun is illegal in California:Gatherings that include more than 3 households are prohibited. This includes everyone present, including hosts and guests. So if you have three kids, you can invite two of them.
My mother used to sit 35 people for Thanksgiving, because celebrating the holidays with family is important. But then the Left would love nothing better than to tear apart the fabric of society, so they can rebuild it according to their own plan. (Venezuela couldn't be reached in time to comment.)
California gatherings must be outdoors.
This would not work well in Minnesota. We haven’t even gotten to Halloween yet, and where I live there are 8 inches of snow on the ground.
I'm not sure it would work in all of California. (Hat tip to Wombat-socho.)
Why are they trying to have Zoom meetings with terrorists? Professors demand universities ditch Zoom for shutting down Palestinian hijacker events
I wonder how they feel about Twiter, F*c*book, Et Al censoring bad news about [Redacted].
The New York University chapter of the American Association of University Professors said Zoom “unilaterally” canceled its Friday event with Leila Khaled, who hijacked two planes for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in the 1970s.
Its event was cosponsored by “several NYU departments and institutes,” the chapter said in a statement posted by Academe, which is published by the national AAUP.
Oh, and in case you've been living under a rock, Redacted above refers to Hunter Biden.
Jewish and pro-Israel groups had warned Zoom that letting Khaled address the SFSU audience using its service would violate both state and federal law.
Because Khaled is still a member of PFLP, a U.S.-designated terrorist group that uses Marxist and Leninist ideology and tactics to spread its message, The Lawfare Project said it would constitute “[u]nlawful provision of material support to [a] designated foreign terrorist organization.”
The professors organizing the "event" are anti-Israel, but you could probably have guessed that. (That's an understatement, BTW.)

I guess the US media isn't really interested in this story. Rwandan genocide suspect Felicien Kabuga arrives in The Hague to face trial
Felicien Kabuga, suspected of having helped to finance the 1994 Rwandan genocide, has been moved from France to The Hague to stand trial on charges of genocide, a UN tribunal said Monday.
"His initial appearance will be held in due course before a judge of the trial chamber assigned to his case," the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals said in a statement.
He apparently spent the past 20 years living in France, just outside of Paris, under an assumed name. He was one of the richest men in Rwanda, and is accused of helping to finance the ethnic Hutu militias in their genocide.
The groups killed hundreds of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus in Rwanda during a 100-day period in 1994.
History. Ignorance. Rinse. Repeat.
Chicago Police Corruption was out of control in the 1980s. Torture victim released after being imprisoned 33 years for double murder
In 2013, the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission found “sufficient evidence of [Robert Smith’s] torture” to conclude his claim was credible.
His real crime was disrespecting their authority. He forced his way in, where they didn't want him to be.
And the officer in charge was a protege of Jon Burge, now famous for torturing confessions out of "suspects." (Or random black guys off the street.)
In 1990, Smith was convicted of the double murder, despite evidence proving he had no involvement, and the Circuit Court refused to suppress his confession, his attorneys said.
For many years, Smith represented himself filing several post-conviction petitions, and in 2013 the Illinois Torture Inquiry and Relief Commission granted him relief, finding that “there is sufficient evidence of [Robert Smith’s] torture to conclude that his Claim is credible and merits judicial review for appropriate relief.”
The Midnight Crew from Area 2: The gift that keeps on giving.
Usually you hear Weird Al Yankovic's parody songs, but on most of his albums he actually includes a polka-medley of popular songs. This is something I didn't know until I got caught up in the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. One of the characters, Waldo Butters, is a polka aficionado. And sometimes I just need to laugh.
This is "Polkarama!" by Weird Al Yankovic from the 2006 album Straight Outta Lynwood. The reference to "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz always makes me smile. Don't be fooled by the fact that starts with an actual polka.
The Dresden Files are a cross between The Rockford Files, the old TV show, and Harry Potter. Harry Dresden is a Wizard and a Private Investigator working in Chicago mostly keeping the supernatural threats at bay. And making the occasional snide comment. The first novel isn't great, but the story is engrossing, and Butcher gets better fast as a writer. I can recommend the entire series, though I haven't read the newest addition which was just released this year.
The following songs are contained in the medley:
- "Chicken Dance" by Werner Thomas
- "Let's Get It Started" by The Black Eyed Peas
- "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand
- "Beverly Hills" by Weezer
- "Speed of Sound" by Coldplay
- "Float On" by Modest Mouse
- "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz featuring De La Soul
- "Don't Cha" by Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes
- "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers
- "Slither" by Velvet Revolver
- "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent featuring Olivia
- "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell
- "Pon de Replay" by Rihanna
- "Gold Digger" by Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx
- "The Nina Bobina Polka" by "Weird Al" Yankovic
And that is where we are headed. Media Promotes BLM Lies in Philadelphia, as Rioting Continues for the Second Night
Looting is already being reported in Philadelphia tonight, the second night of #BlackLivesMatter riots following the Monday afternoon police shooting of 27-year-old Walter Wallace Jr. In last night’s Mostly Peaceful™ Protest, “76 people were arrested for burglary including three with guns, 11 were arrested for assaulting police officers, and three were arrested for failure to disperse,” according to WPVI-TV.
The media is conveniently not telling the truth about how the guy who got shot was armed with a knife and attacked police.
So much more at the link.
Actually the quote that forms the title should be...
“In war, truth is the first casualty.”
― Aeschylus
Because they can't win arguments... Riots and looting break out in Philadelphia—30 officers injured, 12 hospitalized
So cops shot and killed a guy who was attacking them with a knife. Riots ensue.
A 56-year old sergeant who was struck by a pickup truck driven by protestors who plowed into law enforcement was left with a broken leg. He was hospitalized and is reportedly in stable condition, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. As police rushed to protect the wounded officer, protests in the crowd continued to pelt the group of responders with rocks and various other projectiles.
And the Cops were pushed back by the rioters.

For more of the same see PHILADELPHIA RIOT from The Other McCain.
A free advertisement for the Trump campaign broke out in Philadelphia last night. The Mostly Peaceful™ Protest included arson, looting and police seriously injured when they were run down in the streets by a rampaging motorist.
This needs to stop. Order needs to be reinstated.
Life-cycle costs. Not accounted for. Wind Turbine Blades Can’t Be Recycled, So They’re Piling Up in Landfills
A wind turbine’s blades can be longer than a Boeing 747 wing, so at the end of their lifespan they can’t just be hauled away. First, you need to saw through the lissome fiberglass using a diamond-encrusted industrial saw to create three pieces small enough to be strapped to a tractor-trailer.
The municipal landfill in Casper, Wyoming, is the final resting place of 870 blades whose days making renewable energy have come to end. The severed fragments look like bleached whale bones nestled against one another.
What ever happened to reduce, reuse, recycle?
“The wind turbine blade will be there, ultimately, forever,” said Bob Cappadona, chief operating officer for the North American unit of Paris-based Veolia Environnement SA, which is searching for better ways to deal with the massive waste. “Most landfills are considered a dry tomb.”
“The last thing we want to do is create even more environmental challenges.”
And don't even look at Lithium-ion Batteries and the devastation that lithium mining causes. Or the social cost of Cobalt mining in Africa.
And Prosecutors HATE that. Jury acquits Pasadena man of murder, says he acted in self-defense on his property
A guy you know is drunk, disgruntled because you fired him, and he has been making threats.
Prosecutors said the homeowner was too quick to open fire on Jeffrey Dickinson. Gregory Korwek’s defense attorneys said the 44-year-old left him no choice.
Because we can't have people exercising individual responsiblity. Especially not in the People's Republic of California. Where will it end?
The 12 jurors decided Korwek was justified to use deadly force and that the homicide did not amount to second-degree murder or voluntary manslaughter. Murder requires an intent to kill. O’Neill maintained Korwek had none.
The DA then issued some bullshit statement, to try and cover up the fact that this shouldn't have been brought to trial in the first place. In Texas, or Oklahoma, the cops would have bought this guy a coffee. Or something stronger.
Self-defense is a Human-right, and it might even be your legal right, but not if the DAs have anything to say about it.
If you make something cheaper, you will see more of it. Even more cases emerge of violent crimes committed by men freed on “affordable bail”
The Criminal Justice System in Cook County has reduced the cost significantly of committing crimes. And so there is more of it.
Nearly a year after Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans declared “we haven’t had any horrible incidents occur” under his affordable bail initiative, CWBChicago continues to find plenty of cases to dispute his claim.
As Chicago’s homicide rate soared this year, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx tweeted in July, “the excessive violence of the past 2 months has been an anomaly.” The following month, August, was among the worst for homicides in Chicago since the 1950s, and subsequent months have also shown substantial increases compared to previous years.
Click thru for examples of murder and shootings that could be chalked up to "Affordable Bail." Because keeping violent offenders in jail is unfair.
HeyJackass! has the finals on the weeked. Not a Lockdown Weekend | Oct 23-25 2020
Final Peaceful Tally: 8 killed, 24 wounded
2019 weekend tally: 5 killed, 21 wounded
2018 weekend tally: 5 killed, 39 wounded
After a summer of insanity, things are back to what passes for normal in the Windy City.
While this weekend's totals are in line with the past few years, in 2014, 4 people were killed and only 15 were shot. But then the cops were not under attack in 2014.
Some Assembly (or not) required. Police: Florida man stole bulldozer, ran down Biden signs
26-year-old man has been accused of stealing a bulldozer from a Florida construction site, driving it into a neighborhood and knocking down campaign signs for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, according to authorities and homeowners.
Are we surprised that this escapade was apparently fueled by alcohol?
Police said Blight claimed he was too drunk at the time to remember what happened. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Peak Florida. At least for today.
The general level of mayhem in Chicago, NYC, Baltimore, etc. is not news. College student killed by stray bullet was on ‘dream trip’ to NYC, dad says
Ethan Williams, a 20-year-old college student from Indianapolis had been on a “dream trip” to New York and was sitting on a stoop with a group of friends outside their Airbnb in Bushwick when he was shot in the chest around 2:30 a.m.
Police believe he was an unintended target of gunfire in the neighborhood.
HeyJackass! has the stats for Not-A-Lockdown Weekend as 8 killed and 24 shot and wounded. October Month-to-date (as I write this) is 57 shot and killed, 235 shot and wounded, and 52 total homicides. Media attention? [Insert sound of crickets here.]
Then there are the NYC stats. At Least 3 Dead After Night Of Gun Violence In New York City; NYPD Reports 94% Increase In Shootings
The NYPD reports a 94% increase in shootings this year compared to last, including six over the last 24 hours.
We can't ignore Baltimore. 9 shot, 1 killed in shootings across Baltimore on Thursday, police say.
Ellerbe became the fifth Baltimore teenager killed in the past two weeks, and five of the past seven homicide victims were teens. Baltimore police say a total of seven juveniles have become homicide victims since July 1 in the city.
The situation in Chicago does get local attention, as does the crime in New York City and Baltimore. But the shooting of Ethan Williams got (some) national attention. Why? I am not saying his death isn't a tragedy for his family, but what about all the other families?
Note: I included the story from the New York Post, because I've noticed that they are being excluded from Google searches, and Bing Searches. (It was a hunch, based on their Social Media lockout.)
How about a little Charlotte Wessels soprano, and Marco Hietala's tenor? (He's a singer for Nightwish.) Not exactly Beauty and the Beast, but I do like this song.
This is "Control the Storm" (featuring Marco Hietala) by Delain from their 2009 album April Rain.
They may be singing in English, but it is Metal sung by people who are not singing in their mother tongue, so here is a link to the lyrics.
I think it must be a more common occurrence these days. Homeowner fatally shoots burglar in Marquette Park: police
A homeowner shot and killed a suspected burglar Sunday in Marquette Park on the Southwest Side, according to Chicago police.
About 11:15 a.m., the man, believed to be in his 40s, was shot by the homeowner during a burglary in the 7100 block of South Mozart Street, police said.
The investigation continues, but self-defense is a human-right.

Politicians want to be dictators, and not just in California. Is the coronavirus pandemic undermining German democracy?
"For nearly nine months now, regulations have been put in place by local, regional and central authorities which are restricting people's freedoms in a manner unprecedented in post-war Germany," [Florian Post, a member of the Bundestag and legal affairs expert with the Social Democrats (SPD)] told the mass-circulation Bild newspaper. "And not even once has an elected parliament been called on to vote on the measures," he complained.
Because they don't need parliament. It is an emergency. Just trust the bureaucrats to do the right thing, and relinquish all the power when the emergency is past. Which the WHO or the IMF or the UN or some organization says should be sometime in 2022.
Decision making behind closed doors by Angela Merkel and the state premiers was not the only thing to anger parliamentarians. It also emerged that the health ministry in Berlin is fast-tracking efforts to push through both an extension (beyond March 2021) and an expansion of the special rights granted to Health Minister Jens Spahn of the Christian Democrats (CDU).
Germany isn't the only place where democratic rule is under attack. The governors of California, Michigan, New York and other places also seem to think they can rule by decree.
They hate every part of civilization. Artworks vandalized on Berlin's Museum Island.
In this country they claim they want to remove Confederate statues. But it won't stop there.
On Wednesday morning, police confirmed reports by German media, including newspaper Der Tagesspiegel and broadcaster Deutschlandfunk, that unknown perpetrators sprayed oily liquid on at least 70 objects in the Pergamon Museum, the Neues Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie and other locations.
Media reports indicated that the crime had occurred nearly three weeks ago, on October 3, which was German Unity Day and the 30th anniversary of reunification between East and West Germany. Whether the day was deliberately chosen remains a mystery.
It is about destroying every part of history. "History Starts With Us" is a common refrain of communists throughout history. And other people just want to burn everything down.
50 years ago, a section of the bridge collapsed while it was being constructed. 35 workers died in that accident. Now this. The curse of one of Australia's biggest and busiest bridges: Site of infamous disaster and child murder is now 'sinking'
The eastern section of the West Gate Bridge in Melbourne is experiencing 'downward movement' due to being built on Coode Island silt, according to The Herald Sun.
The image is by Thad Roan from Littleton, CO, USA, and is here by way of Wikimedia Commons. Click the image for more information. And a slightly larger view.
But don't worry; it's safe. Of course it is.
Bedrock? We don't need to worry about bedrock.
As for the collapse 50 years ago during construction... 'A gravitating force': How the West Gate Bridge collapse changed Melbourne
“It was 10 to 12, lunchtime. We were packing up to go for lunch when I heard an unbelievable crack and saw the bridge coming down and the concrete pylon was coming towards us. And then it hit the ground, like an almighty thud, like an earthquake."
The story of the sinking seems to be a typical, bureaucratic "Let's reassure the masses" piece. Probably they aren't lying much. The article on the collapse is horrific. So use your discretion about reading it.
The look and feel may change slightly. Not 100% happy with everything.
So you're not losing you're mind.
Things may change drastically from time to time... but I hope not...
Pacheco said a friend pulled up to watch the Heat play in the NBA Finals when waiting criminals caught him off guard.
“While I was in the bathroom, I started to hear the commotion, I started hearing, ‘Get down, get down, give me everything you got,’” she recalled. “I went to the nightstand; I grabbed the gun and I opened the door. I saw one if they guys face to face with me. He told me to put my gun down. I just shook my head no, and then I said, ‘Don’t shoot me, my son is in here.’”
After an exchange of gunfire, the robbers ran away.
There is video at the link above, but if contains annoyig commentary. Here is a link to the survelliance video. It is only a minute or so.
Self-defense, and defense of family, is a human-right.
According to court records, Smith and Shoulders committed an armed robbery together in 2015. They both got a big break back then: probation instead of prison. "While on probation both of them were charged with additional violent crimes," [Andy] Kahan [with CrimeStoppers] said.
So one of the 2 miscreants, who was out on probation, was charged in 3 different violent crimes. And now the 4th: Murder.
So when do we try to make society safer? "Never" appears to be the answer. (Hat tip to Dan Crenshaw.)
And instead of denouncing her for racism, the media applaud. Chelsea Handler Scolds Rapper 50 Cent For Supporting Trump: ‘I Had To Remind Him That He Was A Black Person’
Handler, who is white, told “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon that she “had to remind [50 Cent] that he was a black person, so he can’t vote for Donald Trump.”
I'm sorry, but the last time I checked, white liberals don't get to make those kinds of decisions. I'm sure that it pains them whenever they bump up against an independent thinker. I can tell you from personal experience that they think they have the right to dictate how gays and lesbians vote.
She probably thinks all the peace breaking out in the Middle East is a distraction.
There is nothing that the Left hates more than someone who can think for themselves.
Not only do the ACLU, Biden and others have some confusion about the term "coyote," they are also lying about a certain lawsuit.
The report claims that “the parents of 545 children still can’t be found,” but that’s not quite right. The NPR report omitted a statement issued by Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Chase Jennings explaining that in fact the vast majority of these parents have been found but have refused reunification with their children, which is why the children are still in DHS custody.
“In the current litigation, for example, out of the parents of 485 children whom Plaintiffs’ counsel has been able to contact, they’ve yet to identify a single family that wants their child reunited with them in their country of origin,” Jennings said.
Politicians lie? People going on about stuff they know nothing about? I'm shocked... OK. Not so much shocked. (Hat tip to Wombat-socho.)
Heh. Jake Tapper: Still Not Over Macho Grande
Has it really been 40 years since Airplane? Perhaps younger readers don’t get the “over Macho Grande” reference, but it came to mind as I watched Jake Tapper have a hissy fit after Thursday’s debate, declaring that President Trump “is running the single most negative, sleazy campaign in American history for a major party candidate.”

The 46-year-old man heard what appeared to be someone breaking into his home at 4:52 p.m. in the 4800 block of North Kenneth Avenue, according to Chicago police. He went to investigate and was confronted by a 58-year-old man who doesn’t live there.
The would-be bad-guy was shot in the arm and ran away, but was later picked up and taken to a hospital.
And they make a point of noting that the homeowner was licesned to have a gun in his own home. That requirement is one of tne of the many reasons I don't live in the People's Republic of Illinois.
Self-defense is a Human-right. The investigation is on-going, because the powers-that-be in Chicago and Cook County would love to charge this guy with something. We can't allow individual action and individual responsibility!
On Tuesday, shortly before 10 a.m., an armed 31-year-old man tried to rob another man on the 2600 block of North Napa Street in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood, Philadelphia police said. The second man fired his own weapon, shooting the 31-year-old once in the chest. The 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man who shot him was not injured during the incident and has not been charged.
The shooter was an off-duty employee with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, who "who also works as a gun violence counselor."
I don't expect to hear much else, but I will try to try and stay alert to developments in this case.
Oh, and Self-defense is a Human-right.
Hugh Masekela is sometimes known as the father of South African jazz. He played the trumpet, flugelhorn and coronet. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 78.
In 1961, as part of the anti-apartheid campaign, he was exiled to the United States where he was befriended by Harry Belafonte. Primarily, he played in jazz ensembles, with guest appearances on albums by The Byrds, and Paul Simon. In 1987, his single, "Bring Him Back Home", became an anthem for the movement to free Nelson Mandela. After apartheid ended, Masekela returned to South Africa.
I don't know how I first ran across this song, but I've known it for a very long time. It MAY have been something from high school jazz band, though it may have been just from it having charted.
This is "Grazing in the Grass" by Hugh Masekela from the 1968 album The Promise of a Future. It was released as a single and actually hit number one on the Billboard charts in the US.
The real question is, "Did anyone in the Obama Administration do anything wrong?" Biden says his son did 'nothing inappropriate' while working at Ukraine company
Not that a question like that will be asked. The FBI should be asking, but they are mostly in the bag for the Democrats. Or as they would say in Chicago: The Fix is In.
Joe Biden says his son did nothing inappropriate while working for a company in Ukraine
All he did was collect a lot of money. Nothing to see here. Move along.
I have a new-found respect for Sheriff Richard Jones. Ohio sheriff says he will offer financial help for any celebrity wishing to leave country if Trump wins
“Celebrities threatening to leave the United States if the president is re-elected. This happened in 2016 and it is believed not one celebrity left then and it appears the same threats are being made this election year,” Jones wrote on Facebook.
A whole slew of celebrities "threatened" to move out of the country, and one promised to move off the planet (Cher?) if Trump won. As if that was a deterrent. Now they are making more threats.
Sheriff Jones is offering to help. "You just can't come back." Heh. (Hat tip to The Other McCain.)
