The Secret Service: Not the Best and the Brightest

This is sad, and funny at the same time. So, That's the Story Behind How a Secret Service Agent on Jill Biden's Detail Shot Himself

The Secret Service continues to make headlines, though not always for the right reasons. In 2024, the agency’s actions, particularly its failure to protect Donald Trump during the July rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, fueled calls for its dissolution. Moreover, there were serious security breaches involving Biden officials. In 2023, a drunk individual entered the home of then-National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, managing to bypass his Secret Service detail.

And now, an agent on Jill Biden’s detail shot himself in the butt while escorting the former first lady through Philadelphia International Airport on Friday.

This is so problematic and so many levels. His gun fell out of his holster, and he had a negliget discharge re-holstering the gun.

Hat tip to Midwest Chick's Place: If I was on that detail, I’d take a bullet to the keister also

But it would be worth it to me to take a bullet to get away from her.

Secret Service Agent Shoots Himself

At least they admit that it was a negligent discharge of the weapon. Metaphor Alert: Secret Service Agent Shoots Himself in DC Negligent Discharge - Shooting News Weekly

Click thru for details.

We don’t know if he/she shot him/herself in the foot, but the Secret Service has been doing that for years now, so why not? Carry on. Nothing to see here.

I would love to know more, but this is the last that anyone from USSS will say.

Secret Service Deleting Emails That Make the Service Look Bad

From Victoria Taft at PJ Media: Secret Service Sniper Warns of Another Assassination Attempt Before Election

A Secret Service counter-sniper predicts there will be another assassination attempt before the November election. And why wouldn't there be? The Secret Service honchos still appear to be caught up in their navel-gazing since the shooting of former President Donald Trump on July 13. Or, as the sniper put it, they've gone into CYA mode.

And then the Secret Service scrubbed the email from the government servers.

Hold on, I'll get to that. But first, let's be thankful for what we do know about the attempted assassination of the former president of the United States.

I would think that deleting the email would be against some records retention law, but I'm not a .gov hack trying to cover my ass over this assassination attempt.

The revelations didn't stop there, however. U.S. senators, and by extension the American people, learned from the acting Secret Service chief that we can't possibly know who was in charge of approving the security for the site the night that former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated, an American hero was murdered, and two others were critically injured. There are protocols we must follow before we tell the deplorables the name of the woman in charge. Note: I say the person in charge that day was a woman based on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's assertions during the recent House Hearing.

It would be wrong to punish someone before they got due process, the acting Secret Service chief told his overseers in the U.S. Senate on Tuesday. True. I understand this. Until we know her motives for doing a superlatively bad job, why doxx the person whose idiocy nearly changed ANOTHER election and the lives of millions of people who witnessed it?

The Democrats Have a Scapegoat for the Assassination Attempt

From the NY Post: Secret Service head Kimberly Cheatle resigns after shocking failures led to Trump assassination attempt

Now you will be asked to forget anything bad happened. The person "responsible" has resigned. What else do you want?

Cheatle, a 28-year veteran of the agency, faced mounting pressure to step down in recent days but insisted all along she would remain on the job. She announced her resignation in a letter to agency staffers on Tuesday morning.

There is a recap of everything that went wrong. But this comment was perhaps worst:

Among her baffling remarks was an admission to ABC News that the reason Secret Service agents weren’t posted on the roof from which Thomas Matthew Crooks fired on the rally crowd was because it was too “sloped,” creating an unacceptable “safety factor” for the agents.

Baffling because the roof in question had a slope of about 1 inch rise for every 12 inches of run. In other words you would be hard pressed to find a "sloped" roof closer to flat than the roof were Crook took his shot.

The Secret Service Really IS the Problem

From Red State we get the following. NEW: Secret Service Whistleblowers Calling for Action Over Vulnerability to 'Potential Insider Threats'

Secret Service whistleblowers have called on Congress to investigate the incompetence. And then some. The petition lists:

  • inadequate training
  • a double standard in disciplinary actions
  • a vulnerability "to potential insider threats"

And yes, that last item does imply that they will let people they don't like get shot.

The petition calls for an investigation by the House Oversight Committee and the removal of Kimberly Cheatle as the Secret Service director. It raises issues about DEI hiring superseding training and creating security issues. Whistleblowers are calling for the same type of investigation into the Secret Service that the House Judiciary just started into the FBI.

How Much Can the Secret Service Screw Up?

Trump got very lucky. Exclusive | Pictured: Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot Trump

Thomas Matthew Crooks is the guy who tried to kill Trump.

Much will be made of the fact that he registered to vote as a member of the Republican Party. They will ignore the following fact.

When he was 17, Crooks made a $15 donation to the liberal ActBlue political action committee on President Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day in 2021, the Intercept reported.

So why do I say Trump was lucky?

Secret Service snipers responded quickly — returning fire and taking out the 20-year-old — but not before he was able to squeeze of about eight [rounds].

This doesn't include the fact that people tried to warn the Secret Service before the shooting started.
