Dropped Wallet Leads to Home Invader

Oklahoma is a bad place for bad guys. Tulsa homeowner shoots suspected burglar during overnight break-in - NewsOn6

Tulsa police say a suspected burglar is in the hospital after being shot by a homeowner during a break-in overnight near 21st Street and Mingo Road.

After a confrontation, that ensued when the homeowner saw the guy on his security system, the homeowner shot him. At that point he ran, but he dropped his wallet along the way.

Investigators used identification found inside the wallet to help search for him while officers established a perimeter around the neighborhood.

I'm guessing that isn't how he saw his day working out.

Cops caught up with him, but he resisted, to the point of biting one officer.

Lt. JT Snoddy with the Tulsa Police Department said the suspect appeared to be under the influence.

I'm shocked.

It is early days in the investigation, but it is my understanding that Oklahoma has a fairly robust castle doctrine. Why? Because self-defense is a human right. (Hat tip to USA Carry)

Don't Bring a Baseball Bat to a Gunfight

Things won't go well for you. POLICE: Homeless man shot, killed after attacking homeowner

Police said the homeless man, who was apparently known to people in the area, rushed the homeowner with a baseball bat.

TPD said the homeowner grabbed his gun and shot the homeless man in the upper torso.

Since this happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and not in New Jersey, I expect there will be no charges against the homeowner, but the investigation is ongoing.

Self-defense is a human-right. And while they haven't said, I think this is also a case of crazy people are dangerous.

Three Justifiable Homicides In Just Over 36 Hours

It would seem that Tulsa is a bad place to be a bad guy. Three of Tulsa's recent homicides occurred within a span of 38 hours, and each is considered justifiable

“There’s a lot of people who claim self-defense,” [Lt. Brandon] Watkins said. “That’s usually the first refuge that people go to when they come in, but we look at the evidence.

“On these three cases, the evidence was compelling.”

The cases are the 35th, 36th and 37th homicides in Tulsa this year, according to Tulsa World records.

Those 3 homicides were the result of two people being shot, and one person being stabbed.

Self-defense claims are nothing new to the homicide detectives at the Tulsa Police Department, but to have three in a row that appear to be legitimate is, at the least, “strange.”

Self-defense is a human-right, and in Tulsa, Oklahoma, it also seems to be your legal right.

Oklahoma Is Not New Jersey

If the man with the gun gives you an option to live, you might consider taking it. Homeowner shoots, kills alleged burglar, Tulsa police say.

The homeowner said his alarm alerted him to someone trying to break into his house. When he got home, he found the suspect carrying stuff from his house.

He told police he tried to stop the burglar from leaving while he called police, saying the suspect attacked him with a metal object.

One gunshot wound to the torso later, the would be bad-guy died at a local hospital.

But today is not that day. Tulsa warns of data breach after Conti ransomware leaks police citations

In early May, Tulsa suffered a ransomware attack that led to the City shutting down its network to prevent the spread of the malware. [SNIP]

However, yesterday the Conti Ransomware gang claimed responsibility and published 18,938 of the City's files, mainly police citations and internal Word [documents].

They are telling people to be aware of scams and to "monitor their credit," but they are offering no help. They are not offering the standard 1-year of a credit-monitoring service.
