The Left is going crazy over 3D printed guns, but long before 3D printers, there were sheet-metal guns.

Ze Carioca was the main designer of the Urutau, a bullpup 9mm version of the FGC-9 designed to be easily made anywhere in the world.

The police described him as a "mastermind."
It is however more likely that he has been lumped in with other suspects and may have only been making dummy props or supplying incomplete or unregulated parts.
Because the powers that be hate the fact that they are losing the war to disarm the population.
We have a story of the continuing disintegration of gun control in Brazil. Weapons made in Novo Hamburgo using 3D printers feature high-quality steel and good shooting accuracy. This is by way of Google Translate, so it may be a bit rough.
The "factory" consisted of a couple of 3D printers, a decent computer, and some basic hand tools. If you're reading this, probably the only thing you don't have is a 3D printer.
The seven submachine guns seized late Friday afternoon (27) in a house in the Vila Diehl neighborhood, in Novo Hamburgo , were of similar quality to police weapons, according to delegate Ayrton Martins, from the Organized Crime Repression Division (Draco). “In addition to being accurate, the weapons also have quality control, so much so that the steel used is of good quality,” he mentioned.
The weapons being produced were the FGC-9. (The image above is of an unrelated FGC-9) That, of course, stands for "F- Gun Control, 9mm." It is one of the standard 3D printed plans that have been refined over the past few years. The ease of manufacture is what has the Left, and dictators the world over, having fits about 3D printers.
I'm sure someone will point out that the city in question, Porto Alegre, is heavily influenced by the Bala na Cara (Bullet in the Face – BNC) gang. Why? To prove that guns are bad because some people are bad. Or something.
The weapons were sold for 10,000 Brazilian reais, which is just under $2000 each. The Brazilian police are embarking on a game of Wac-a-Mole. One thing I have come to believe in, over the years, is that markets work. The more government tries to lock down a commodity, the more a market will spring up to supply the demand.

Police in Brazil finally busted the gang responsible for churning out 9mm SMGs stuffed into spring powered airsoft SCAR bodies following raids conducted yesterday.
Opening up the clam-shell bodies reveals crude blowback smg innards made from square tubing. They must have been selling like hotcakes as they had been showing up frequently in weapon & drug seizures.
The photos are interesting, because for once the Brazilian police have shown how the guns are constructed.

FGC-9 stands for F*ck Gun Control, 9mm. It is mostly 3D printed, using steel tubing for the barrel, and bar stock for the bolt. There are even 3D plans available for mandrels that allow for some rifling using electricity and saltwater to etch the grooves.
They use standard AR-15 pistol grips, and Glock 9mm magazines. Those can also be printed, along with a mandrel for winding your own magazine spring. I think they use a standard AR-15 fire-control group, but I'm not sure about that.

A ‘Nutty-9’ – an easier to build version of the FGC-9 which makes use of nut & bolts to assemble the bolt.
The FGC-9 (F- Gun Control 9mm) can be produced in most places with a 3D printer, some basic hand tools, and some hardware store/internet purchases of pipes, springs, etc. But I guess the bolt was particular problem. Not anymore.

The image above is of an unrelated FGC-9 Mk-II. It is my understanding that the Mark 2 was easier to build than the original.
Two stories from Impro Guns.
The first story is from South America. Airsoft body hybrid SMG (Brazil)
A number of these have been seized in the last few months, mainly in Bahia state. It appears to be an improvised PA Luty style SMG with the innards dressed up inside an inexpensive spring powered airsoft body. Reportedly chambered in 9mm.
The second story is from Africa. Kidnappers engaged (Nigeria)
There was one AK-47 rifle. Two improvised pistols chambered for shotgun shells were recovered. It isn't clear what gauge but one appears to be 12 gauge, and one in .410 bore or perhaps 20 gauge. There was one 9mm pistol recovered, that may or may not be improvised. (It's a bit rough, but it just may be old.)

Luty-designed firearms usually look pretty good, given how he specified they be built, but dressing them up with Airsoft furniture make them look quite nice. The rest are a bit rough, and the rust doesn't help. Well, the AK looks like a bog-standard AK that's been around the block a few times.
Rio De Janeiro allows women to carry pepper spray. Sort of. With pepper spray authorized for women's self-defense, Rio de Janeiro becomes the first state to authorize civilian use with controlled sales, a monthly limit, and free access for women with a protective order in effect
With pepper spray released Officially for women's self-defense, Governor Cláudio Castro signed a law that makes Rio de Janeiro the first Brazilian state to regulate the civilian use of the product. The measure creates specific rules for sales, maximum quantities, and free distribution in cases of violence, directly targeting the protection of women in vulnerable situations.
In practice, the text defines where the spray can be sold, to whom, in what quantity, and with what concentration limit. The proposal combines pepper spray released for civilian use with a package of strict controls., trying to balance the right to defense of women and the concern about the misuse of the product on the streets of the state.
The limits are about 2.5 fluid ounces of spray (depending on exactly how they are measuring), which is about 5 of containers I usually purchase. Purchasing 2 per month... I usually throw them away when they expire, rather than because they are empty.
Brazilians can't purchase the large "home defense" cans (not quite as large as a can of spray paint) because those are more than the 70 gram limit.
Also men can't purchase or own pepper spray, which some people are bent out of shape over.
This isn't all of Brazil, just the state or Rio De Janeiro, but you have to start somewhere.
I suppose this is a recognition of the reality that Brazil is not a safe place. (Hat tip to Keep and Bear Arms.)

Harlots are mostly 3D printed, with a few items, like metal tubing and springs, picked up at your local hardware store.
3D printed Harlot .22 pistols being offered on the Turkish black market for just under $100 a pop. Supply is infinite as these can be continuously pumped out in the bedroom of this particular entrepreneur while he is away enjoying the finer things in life.
The Australians are particularly upset because they have moved heaven and earth to make guns all but illegal, and semiautomatics extra illegal.

Looks to be from the plans by Professor Parabellum, or something similar.

According to Google translate, that is not quite "Made in Brazil, 9mm Uzi." Though it looks more like the Professor Parabellum version of the MAC 10.

FGC-9 stands for F@^# Gun Control 9mm. It is a 9mm submachine gun made from 3D printed components together with some metal tubing and other things you can find online or at a big-box hardware store. Some components can be purchased, if you live in a place where that is legal, or can be produced locally. There is even a set of instructions for rifling the barrel using Electrochemical machining.
I wonder just how many of these things are out there considering we’re seeing them pop up every other week and just how many more will be in circulation within the next couple of years?

What is the point of gun control if it doesn't work to stop criminals from getting guns? Oh yeah. Keep the law-abiding disarmed!
The local gang armorers are pumping these things out in ever increasing numbers from a few dollars worth of scrap pipe and the authorities are helpless to stop it.
And they are full-automatics.
