That’s where investigators say the confrontation turned physical.

According to police, the homeowner told officers the man attacked him during the encounter. The homeowner then pulled out a pistol and fired at the man.

Now it is true that he was shot "after trespassing," because he was trespassing, and told to leave - and he did leave - before he came back and became confrontational.

But if you present the facts in that order, you can't cast the gun owner as being eeeevil. You have to get to paragraph 9 before you find out that there was more than simple trespassing involved, and the Professional Journalists™ know most people don't read that far, and I doubt an AI summary will get that far.

As for the guy who got shot, he ran off, and it took police some time to find his body. Would he have survived if he had stayed put, and been taken to a hospital? We will never know.

It is early days for the investigation, but this didn't happen in New Jersey.

This guy knew the home was occupied.

According to police, two men were running down the street, and one of them – who was already injured – was knocking on doors. Police say he was bleeding from the head.

At some point, police say the bleeding man started beating on a door, and the homeowner looked out and saw him.

Instead of talking or asking for help, or whatever he wanted. He kicked in the door, and gained entry to the home. He was shot multiple times.

The other guy left the scene, because at that point he realized whatever he thought was going to happen, he was wrong.

The guy who got shot was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Self-defense is a human right. And this took place in Texas.

If You Break Into Homes ...

According to Lt. Horelica, the homeowner was inside when two men allegedly tried to get inside the residence. At some point, a gunfight broke out between a suspect and the homeowner.

This serves as a reminder that being armed in your own defense is not a magic shield. Bad things can still happen.

The homeowner was shot at least once, but managed to make his way to Houston Fire Department station 23 nearby where he was found by police.

One of the would-be, bad guys took off in their vehicle, leaving his injured buddy behind. I guess, "No honor among thieves" is still true. Cops caught up with the injured guy while he was knocking on a neighbors door, seeking help.

Police showed up and noticed he was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken into custody, officials report.

Both the injured bad guy, and the homeowner are in stable condition.

Home Invaders Pretend to be Police

The homeowner told police that two men were at their door saying they were police serving a warrant. Police said the men were wearing masks, bulletproof vests and had badges around their necks.

The homeowner was suspicious, and when the fake police fired into the home, the homeowner returned fire.

Houston PD has released very little information, so maybe more will be coming soon.

Don't Bring a Machete to a Gunfight

Detectives arrived and determined that the homeowner was justified in the shooting as the suspect attempted to enter his property with a weapon.

Why would you assume that a machete would give you an advantage in Houston, Texas? Isn't everyone armed in Houston?

The suspect was transported to a locale hospital and will be booked into the Harris County Jail for Aggravated Assault and Retaliation charges once he’s released.

They don't explain what the Retaliation charge is about.

A husband and wife were at home, when their security system alerted them to an intruder.

The husband in his 50s went to their garage with his gun, saw the garage door was open and someone was sitting inside his wife’s car.

As he went to confront the man, police said the man got out of the car.

It was dark, and the homeowner couldn't see the guy too well, so when the would-be bad guy approached homeowner, the homeowner shot him.

That man was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover and face burglary charges.

And because this took place in Texas and not in New Jersey, the homeowner is not facing charges.

He expected that police wouldn't get to the break-in for a while, but the husband and wife business owners got there fairly quickly.

One of the owners, Heather, says they called police, but took matters into their own hands, adding, "We live so close, we’re always here before the police just by nature of being less than a mile away."

When confronted, the guy became aggressive, so he got shot once in the stomach. An employee of the fast food restaurant across the street helped detain the guy until cops arrived.

The guy who got shot is expected to be OK. They didn't say what charges were expected. He was apparently there to steal copper out of the building.

Father Defends His Daughter (with Help)

If you are going to "bother" someone, make sure that her father isn't a retired cop. You might also want to check on who her neighbors are, and if she is friendly with them. One of the neighbors is a cop who was off duty. Both the father and the neighbor showed up in response to her call for help.

It’s unclear what happened when they both got to the scene, but Montgomery Co. deputies said both men shot the trespasser “due to the ongoing threats.”

Montgomery Co. Sheriff Wesley Doolittle, whose office will be handling the investigation since there is a connection to the Houston PD, made a statement, that included the following.

The suspect was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to survive. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Houston Police Department, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation into this shooting incident.

Self-defense is a human right, and defending your daughter would seem to be a moral imperative. As for legality, this didn't happen in New Jersey or on the Island of Manhattan.

Deputies say the suspect left his vehicle and assaulted a female victim who was still in her vehicle. The woman then allegedly pulled out her handgun and fired a shot, then the suspect released her.

That was a good choice, though she shouldn't have needed a firearm to assert her desire to be left alone, there is no denying that having one served her on that day.

The suspect was taken into custody for assault, according to the constables' office.

This all took place in Houston, Texas.

The alleged intruder made entry while the father and daughter were home, although the daughter was asleep. She awoke to noises and allegedly “saw the man inside,” which is when she shot him.

Houston PD posted on X about the incident, noting, “Prelim info is a resident of a home shot at a male breaking into the home. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.”

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, and another person involved in the suspected invasion has been detained at the scene, per Houston Police Department.

According to initial reports, two suspects attempted to force their way into a residence. The homeowner confronted them, and a gunfight ensued. Several rounds were fired before the suspects fled the scene.

No one was injured in the exchange. Police did apprehend one suspect nearby as he tried to change clothes.

The other suspect has not been located.

They haven't arrested the defender, but the investigation continues.

Delivering Pizza Can Be a Dangerous Job

The first paragraph of the article says that the delivery driver fired after "an argument." And the headline isn't much help either. Eventually, they do tell the truth.

Police said the driver went to the address to deliver a pizza and was confronted by two men demanding money at gunpoint. According to HPD, he pulled out his own gun and shot, killing one of the men. The second man reportedly ran away.

I agree with The Truth About Guns, who gets the hat tip, that "demanding money at gunpoint" doesn't sound like an argument. It sounds like armed robbery.

The dead guy's brother wants to know...

If you were the pizza delivery guy, why did you have a, why were you armed?

Maybe he was armed because people routinely try to rob pizza delivery drivers. Maybe he was armed because self defense is both a human right, and your right under the law.

The homicide will be referred to a grand jury.

Investigators said the 45-year-old was arriving at his home with his family and got out of his car to move their trash can blocking the driveway.

As his wife was parking the vehicle, the homeowner was approached by a 29-year-old man described to be angry and behaving aggressively, according to HPD.

The two men began physically fighting, the homeowner shot the suspect, and he called the police.

The guy who got shot, died in a local hospital.

They both lived on the same street, apparently, so cops are not giving too much away. The investigation continues. Though I am not a lawyer, my understanding is that every homicide in Texas must be presented to a grand jury.

Then again, this didn't happen in New Jersey.

So she hates Israel, and is in favor of the terrorist group Hamas. And she shoots up a Christian church. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Extreme-Left, Progressive Democrat. Only a guess.

Police say robbers got a rude awakening during an attempted home invasion in north Houston Sunday night.

If you break into homes in Texas, I think you can expect to find an armed homeowner.

We’re told by the police that as the homeowner was pulling into his driveway, suspects rolled up on him and forced their way into the home.

Little did they know a family member was inside, saw what was happening and shot at the suspects, hitting one in leg and arm.

Officers found him and he was taken to a local hospital.

I'm all in favor of self-defense. And I understand that passions run high in a stressful situation. But I'm still conflicted.

A grand jury decided on Wednesday that it will not charge a man who shot and killed 30-year-old Eric Eugene Washington, according to a press release from the Harris County District Attorney's Office, after Washington entered the El Ranchito taqueria in January 2023 while flashing what appeared to be a gun and robbing the residents inside in an incident that was captured on video.

I won't lose any sleep over Mr. Washington. He thought robbing a restaurant in Houston, with a realistic-looking toy gun, was a good idea. It clearly was not a good idea. The nature of the fake-firearm doesn't come into play, because everyone assumed it was real. Based on the best information that had in the heat of the moment, it was real.

As the state declines to provide law and order through soft-on-crime policies, more people will decide that they have to provide their own safety.

The video at the article shows the robbery, but stops before the shooting. You can find the full video online if you are interested.

The security video went viral on social media, and activists quickly called for the man, who has not been identified by authorities, to be pursued for criminal charges in what they called an act of vigilantism.

But then "activists" never want to see criminals held to account for their acts. And why is it that activists' positions are worthy of being reported? Is that akin to saying, "This is what the Twitter Mob wanted?" Unnamed activists... Why should I care what they have to say?

And what would make you believe that you would be the ONLY armed person in a restaurant in Houston, Texas? Did he think he was in New Jersey or on the island of Manhattan? (Hat tip to The Tactical Hermit.)

She was shot twice. Cops showed up and took her to the hospital.

A couple came home Wednesday night and found an armed intruder inside their north Houston home, investigators said.

One of them, shot the man and killed him.

The homeowner gave a statement to the cops, and that was enough.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies identified the intruder as Teraice Henderson, who was wanted on several warrants out of Harris County for a felony charge of possession of a weapon.

Also, drugs may have been involved. Shocking, I know.

What Should a Woman Do if a Man Is Trying to Enter Her Home?

She knew him, because they were neighbors. That didn't give him the right to enter her home without permission. No means no.

"We're not sure what his motive was for trying to go in there," Sgt. Ross Watson said. "It looks like he was trying to come in, and she was trying to not let him in. So, not necessarily breaking the door down."

She shot him, and he died at the scene. The case will go before a grand jury. It is my understanding that all homicides in Texas go before a grand jury.

So I would like the gun-hating part of the Left to tell me what she should have done. Without a firearm, he likely could have forced his way into her home. Then what? Just agree to whatever he wanted? I wish they would explain it.

In the meantime, while we wait for the Left to explain that, we can at least take comfort in the fact that self-defense is a human-right. And this didn't take place in Manhattan.
