A so-called “ICE Out” march drew an estimated 15,000 left-wing political activists to a frozen, snow-covered Minneapolis on Friday, with attendees chanting “ICE out now” and demanding an end to federal immigration enforcement in the city.

Although framed as a spontaneous uprising of concerned, everyday people, the demonstration — like countless that have regularly metastasized during President Trump’s terms — featured a familiar cast of politically obsessed activists and terminally online characters.

Mayor Johnson has consistently minimized Chicago’s crime and violence crisis. Although murders and shootings have declined since the peak of the COVID pandemic, Chicago still reported over 28,000 violent crimes in 2024, with aggravated assaults reaching a 20-year high. Chicago once again will lead the nation in the number of murders, shootings, school age youth murdered and shot, and mass shootings.

Black Chicagoans shoulder most of the burden of violent crime, as 75 percent of murder victims and shooting victims are Black, and Black women, who make up just over 15 percent of the city’s population, comprise over 30 percent of violent crime victims.

The linked article isn't only a look at crime of course, though there is plenty of crime in Chicago. The transit system, is basically not safe today, picking one example, not at random.

But the educational system in that city is deteriorating. It wasn't that good to start with, but it is getting worse.

Then there are the fees, fines, and taxes that routinely hit the poorer residents of the city harder than other parts of the city.

And then there is basic health of the city.

Pushing People Past the Tipping Point

The Left have had their way for a long time. Changing the rules of civilization. Changing the rules of language. Most people just wanted to be left alone.

For the last 10 to 15 years or even more the woke mind virus has held ordinary Americans in fear of saying the wrong thing, or expressing an approved opinion. We had not reached the point of England where people were getting arrested but the fear was palatable and most of all those who perpetuated this fear to control us kept pushing in order to give the illusion, backed up by media and culture, that they were the overwhelming majority.

It could be something as simple as not putting out a Trump sign because you didn’t want your car keyed or your house egged, or keeping your mouth shut while a leftist ranted on at work about Trump being a Nazi.

It is easier to go along to get along. Until it isn't.

It’s generally a bad idea to push a well armed population beyond their endurance, because people eventually decide they’ve had enough and once you push a person who only wants to be left alone past that point bad things tend to happen.

And that brings us to the aftermath of the murder of Charlie Kirk.

But after a decade or more of tuning violent criminals and/or crazy psychopaths loose to murder women like Iryna Zarutska, and after the murder of Charlie Kirk, you have to realize that the rules you are living under no longer meet your definition of civilization.

Now mind you, they have a perfect right to hate Charlie Kirk, they have a perfect right to say they’re glad he’s dead, either at home or in private or public conversations, they even have the right to post what they did. It’s not a criminal offense and I would object to anyone being prosecuted for such a thing.

We also have rights, and when you go on a public platform, and appear in the public square and in our workspaces or in a place where our children are being taught and publicly celebrate assassination, not because they’re a terrorist or that we’re at war with an enemy or because a person is a gangster or mafia guy to whom such a thing is an occupational hazard, but because you disagree with the person’s political opinions and dared to openly and effectively debate others, then we have the right to very publicly call you out.

I hope it stops at "the calling you out" stage. I don't think it will.

The "Kidnapped by ICE" Hoax, and the Indictment

You've certainly heard the story. She was "kidnapped" by ICE, from a Jack In The Box, and taken to a concentration camp. Or something.

And it was all a lie, according to the feds. Well, that's at least what they alleged in an indictment that could send the "Mexican national," a.k.a. illegal alien, to a U.S. prison for a long stretch of three hots and a cot—and, if she's lucky, telenovelas on la televisión in the prisoner lounge.

She is on surveillance video, at the Jack in the Box, and then walking to a Starbucks across the street. She passed an LAPD squad car. The feds started tracking her two cellphones, and cops caught up with her in Bakersfield with a co-conspirator.

The point of this felonious exercise was to malign ICE, make money, and further demonize the president's efforts to close the border.

It appears that the left's "kidnapped" avatar for justice has just been caught in the act for conspiracy and false statements to the feds. Each charge has a five-year sentenced attached.

Is anyone shocked by the lies?

NY Post Versus Legacy Media?

So the NY Post admits that legacy media has been lying to everyone. We all know this, but you don't usually read it in the legacy media.

Nowadays you can actually be, you know, informed if you carefully follow the alternative press and social media.

It’s a major reason why the organized left, the Democrats and the traditional media — but I repeat myself — have less traction today than they used to.

OK, so this is an opinion piece but it does occur in the legacy media.

Time for a history lesson. The original blogosphere, followed by the rise of corporate social media (F*c*book and Twitter - pre-Elon), and how stories that questioned the narrative of the Left got censored.

Twitter, before Elon Musk bought it, didn’t just ban The Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s incriminating laptop — it prevented sharing the story via direct message.

Ditto any skepticism about COVID policies or the climate “emergency.”

You will not say or write anything the Left doesn't approve of, because if you do, you might think thoughts that the Left doesn't like.

We’ve learned that the legacy media routinely peddle lies: A dramatic story about a racist incident, a la Jussie Smollett, once provoked instant outrage.

Now, many start out assuming the incident is a hoax — and they’re often right.

Gallup recently discovered that 69% of Americans distrust the media; only 31% generally believe their reporting.

"Lefties Losing It" from Down Under

I love Lefties Losing It from Sky News. Usually I don't post the videos because they are longer than most people have the patience to endure, but this one has a couple of things worth it. The first 4 minutes are about some musical "superstars." Katy Perry and Beyoncé get roasted, and then we get a short video of Kneecap praising the October 7th terror attack in Israel.

After that we get a Lefty, professor and lawyer Andrew Weissmann. [4 minutes and 11 seconds in.] There is a video comparing Weissmann's reaction to when Trump was arrested ("No one is above the Law") to his reaction when a leftist, activist judge is arrested ("You don't do that").

The 20 minutes finishes with a discussion of Blue-Suit-Gate, and how Trump never wears black. While the whole thing is good, I really am only recommending the first 5 minutes or so.

Lefties Losing It seems to show up on Sky News at least once every day of the work week, though they may skip a day from time to time. If the Left is being particularly insane, they will have a few of videos on any given day.

The article lists “5 Signs of Functional Depression in the Workplace,” which includes not showing up or showing up but basically vegetating while there, not talking with anyone, not doing their job, not talking to anyone who disagrees with them politically, and being moody. In other words, I am a lazy loser sulking all day while collecting a paycheck. Good work, if you can get it.

They offer solutions to employers, not to the losers who can’t function as adults anymore because their side lost an election. They are “Acknowledge the Emotional Toll,” “Offer Mental Health Resources,” “Encourage Flexibility,” “Foster Inclusive Conversations,” and “Provide Training for Managers.”

I'm guessing that all of these Leftists who show up to work, but do no work, are not doing any actual work. Not driving a truck or a forklift. Not working behind a cash register. Not stocking shelves. No, these people are too good for those jobs. They are not sending out bills, or answering phones. They aren't doing hair or nails, or cleaning teeth, or...

They have jobs so important it doesn't seem anyone is noticing that they aren't doing any work.

Here’s an easier way to handle it: Tell your employees who aren’t doing their jobs because Donald Trump won that they can either do the job they are paid to do or find a new job. To help facilitate that search, you will happily unburden them from the constraints of their current employment so they can spend all day doing it.

A few weeks ago, I bought a copy of Thomas Sowell’s 1987 book A Conflict of Visions as a gift for a young man who was struggling with his political views. My intention is, once he’s finished reading that, to give him the second book of that Sowell trilogy, The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy (1995), which I consider the best analysis of liberalism as a psychological phenomenon.

Looks like I have some new reading to get through.

Because I do not want to “smarten a chump,” I won’t explain in detail why this analysis is so wrong, but if you’re willing to risk retardation, you can read the entirety of Sarah Bernstein’s op-ed column and notice that she never once entertains the possibility that the Biden administration’s policies were unpopular because they were bad policies. Nor does it seem to cross Bernstein’s mind that perhaps Kamala Harris was a bad candidate who ran a bad campaign. No, if Democrats lose an election, Bernstein automatically assumes, it’s because the voters are wrong.

Gina Carano Calls Out Hollywood

Someone needs to. Gina Carano Denounces Disney: "I Don't Worship Your Business. And My God Is Bigger Than Disney."

The material focus of modern America, and of Hollywood in particular, is a form of religion. Not a particularly deep one.

She responded, “Just from watching and being spiritually aware, I guess, so many of these actors that do so well, it’s like, ‘I am my own god.’ They have everything together. They have the wife. They have the kids. They don’t drink alcohol. They are in shape and all of this, but they believe they are their own god.”

When asked if these actors say it and articulate, Carano replied, “Yeah, a lot of people say that they’re their own god. And it’s a scary thing because I feel that’s almost a harder wall to break down than maybe drugs or alcohol or sex or something that’s more obvious. Is that when you believe that you are your own god that doesn’t like leave room for the real God.”

That is not a situation that holds sway only in Hollywood. Not many people look beyond their own lives for meaning. They have all they need. There is nothing more.

Anyone who doesn't hold that belief has been "excommunicated" from Hollywood. From Dean Cain, to Gina Carano. And more.

Strange to say, this crime has apparently gotten zero attention from feminists, who have made violence against women a subject of their activism for more than three decades. Likewise, we have heard nothing from the White House about this horrific crime, despite the fact that President Joe Biden frequently touts his credentials on the issue.

I can't imagine why the Left would ignore this story, can you?

Leftists - The Law Doesn't Apply to Us

A controversial Brooklyn parent board blocked parents and press “not in alignment” with its extreme leftist agenda from attending its monthly public meeting this week — a brazen violation of state law.

At least a dozen people were blocked from joining Wednesday’s Zoom meeting, including a Post reporter who was apparently forbidden simply for identifying as a journalist for New York’s favorite newspaper.

Their statement basically says if you don't agree with everything we say you must agree with, you are not allowed in our space. This doesn't fly with the open meeting laws in New York.

The Open Meetings Law requires that parent meetings be open to the general public and held in person, but the CEC’s meetings are still conducted entirely over Zoom.

Probably because it is easier to control Zoom meetings than it is control people in the real world.

Elon Musk versus George Soros

Elon Musk (Twitter/X, Tesla, etc.) was on the Joe Rogan podcast. The conversation lasted 3 hours. Soros was only one of the topics of discussion.

"In my opinion, he fundamentally hates humanity," Musk said of Soros.

Musk pointed to the causes Soros puts his money toward, including local elections, which he admits is likely the best way to influence policy.

"He’s doing things that erode the fabric of civilization," Musk said. "Getting [district attorneys] elected who refused to prosecute crime, that's part of the problem in San Francisco and L.A. and other cities. So why would you do that?"

I may have to look up that episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. I don't usually listen to it, because 3 hours is a long time.

Without victims, the Left is out of narrative. Gay Man Lied About Being Set On Fire - Metro Weekly

The San Diego Police Department is investigating an alleged homophobic attack, claiming that new evidence shows the purported victim, a gay man, assaulted a woman before she set him on fire.

Last week Scott Rowin, 39, claimed to have been set on fire during a homophobic attack. Metro Weekly reached out to San Diego Police for additional details after the story first broke, but the department never responded to multiple requests for comments.

Jussie Smollett 2.0?

Rowin told San Diego ABC affiliate KGTV that he was set on fire by two people yelling homophobic slurs. But police claim new video evidence shows Rowin lied, and that he attacked a pregnant woman before she set him on fire as an act of self-defense

He won't be prosecuted, or that is my prediction anyway. The news organizations that trumpeted his hate-crime claim all over the internet, MIGHT issue a retraction, on page 32, or at 12:11 AM for broadcast media. Even after Jussie Smollett, they can't wait to blame those EEEEEVIL Republicans, even for things that didn't happen. (Hat tip to Keep and Bear Arms.)

The editor of Iowa’s Quad Cities Times has apologized for publishing the cartoon above, after being called out on Twitter by Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who lamented the “shameful” cartoon and said: “It’s sad that this is how the MSM views Republicans. I’ve met with grassroots conservatives across America & never *once* experienced the kind of bigotry that I regularly see from the Left.”

The cartoon they published is racist, but they thought it was okay, because they are sure that YOU are the racist, not them. That means that they think it is OK to publish a racist cartoon. (Which you can see if you click thru.)

This is why it doesn't (usually) help to debate Leftists. The fact that you don't agree with them means you are a horrible or a stupid person. They will never listen to what you have to say.

In this way, the “anointed” liberals transform every policy question into a test of moral virtue, attributing malicious motives to anyone who fails to support the liberal agenda. They are intelligent and educated; you are stupid and ignorant. They are generous; you are greedy. And, as always, liberals conceive of themselves as the enlightened benefactors of oppressed racial minorities, while their opponents are hateful racists. In other words, the disagreement is not about the pros and cons of any particular policy, but rather about giving the anointed another opportunity to display their moral superiority, hence Sowell’s subtitle, “Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy.”
