In 2025, wind turbines killed 1,160 large birds, such as raptors and waterfowl, Wyoming Game and Fish habitat protection program supervisor Will Schultz told the state Game and Fish Commission on Wednesday.
Turbine blades also killed 9,152 small birds, such as meadowlarks, and 13,423 bats, Schultz said.

Disposal of wind turbine blades is an issue. An environmental issue.
Disposal of giant blades in landfills is often the only way to deal with equipment that is no longer serviceable. “Blades are frequently buried in fragments in several landfills throughout the Great Plains,” Cohen adds, “transforming sites in Wyoming, Iowa, and South Dakota into wind turbine graveyards. By 2050, the cumulative decommissioning material from wind turbines could reach 133 million tons. On average, 3,000 – 9,000 blades are being taken out of service per year in the United States, and that number is expected to increase to 10,000 – 20,000 blades per year by 2040.”
The blades for the giant turbines don't last as long as the environmentalists hoped they would. They can't be recycled. I wonder if the energy required to produce the blades, which are made out of fiberglass, epoxy resins, and carbon fiber, can ever be recouped by the turbine. That doesn't include the steel, the concrete, and the copper that goes into the entire thing.

I would have to look it up to be sure, but my guess is that the highest point on Indian Creek Island is less than 3 feet above high tide.

The Netherlands Metorological Institute had edited climate history to REMOVE old heat waves, that did not fit the narrative.
Seven years after Dutch skeptics first challenged KNMI’s temperature adjustments, the institute has reinstated seven “lost” pre-1950 heatwaves at De Bilt — validating claims of over-correction that had erased 16 out of 23 historical extremes.
What were the edits?
In 2016, KNMI homogenized their daily temperatures for the period 1901-1950 because of a change in measurement method in 1950 (Pagoda screen to Stevenson screen) and a displacement 300 meter towards open field in 1951. They had parallel measurement for the change in screens but not for the displacement and therefore they had decided to homogenize De Bilt statistically by comparing it with a station 150 kilometers northeast (a place called Eelde) from De Bilt. The homogenization had a negligible effect on the average temperature. However the hottest days of the year (In The Netherlands this means Tmax of around 30oC) in the period 1901-1950 were corrected downwards by up to 1.9oC. Because of this, 16 out of those 23 heatwaves vanished from the official records.
KNMI is not the only "scientific organization" to do such editing. Because otherwise the narrative wouldn't be as easy to defend.

Back in 2023 the Nashville power company (Nashville Electric Service) decided that "preserving the canopy" (the trees above power lines) was important enough that they were going to change the way they trimmed trees. This was part of their ESG initiatives. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance score. (They need a good ESG score to get the attention of folks like Black Rock to get that low-cost money.) DEI rolls under the Social/Governance part of that equation. Fast forward to 2026, and a major ice storm, and what is the result?
As for what these priorities mean to the average citizen, consider that the power has been out for thousands in Nashville for 10 days now following the winter storm that hit on January 24.
Ten days without light, without heat, without refrigeration, without hot water, without a modern civilization. The temperature in Nashville doesn't appear to have been cold enough to result in frozen pipes, but that could be different outside of the city. While a lot of gas-fired water heaters will work without electricity, most gas-fired furnaces will not.
Ten days is long time to be living in the early 1900s.
How much food spoiled in that time? How many restaurants went under because they couldn't serve lunch, and lost their week's supply of food? In April of 2024, the scientific journal Nature published an article titled "The economic commitment of climate change." The conclusion of the paper's authors was that climate change would lead to spectacular catastrophe for the world's economy both in the medium term and the longer term. This message, that the world's hair was on fire because of climate change, was immediately picked up and spread far and wide by the media.
Central Banks jumped on the insanity to set policy, because of course they did.
In other words, this wasn't just more screechy climate catastrophism it was going to have a major impact on banks around the globe. Only it turned out the paper all of this was based on was bogus. Those terrible predictions were not supportable.
In fact, it turned out that most of the bad news was the result of data for just one country: Uzbekistan.
It took more than a year for the report to be retracted. It was retracted last week.
Why should the public trust Nature when it chooses to publish junk science like this and then takes well over a year to retract it?
Trust the science. Just don't put too much faith in the scientists or their journals.

October, the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station registered an incredible minus 61.3 degrees Celsius – in the middle of the Antarctic spring, at a time when it was supposedly going to get warmer long ago.
For those of you who are Celsius challenged, that is minus 78.34 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fire crews with the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to the facility, at 926 Waverly Road, shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9.
The auto parts manufacturing facility also caught fire overnight on March 30.
