NY Post Can't Call a Felon a Felon

I usually like the New York Post, but they can't get things right with this story. Why? Because the credentialed class can't stand the idea that "college grads" are subject to FAFO, and Karma, like everyone else. ‘Exceptional’ NY college grad killed when boat taken without permission crashes in Boston Harbor

The original title to the article seems to have been "Student-athlete killed, three injured in Boston Harbor boat crash." They couldn't even say that the boat was "taken without permission." Most people call that stealing, but the NY Post is talking about a "college grad."

Here is what they want you to remember.

An “exceptional” New York college graduate was killed when a boat she and her friends were riding in without permission crashed into a pier in Boston Harbor, according to officials.

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Dankert, who played soccer for Union College in Schenectady, was killed when the recreational boat smashed into pier 4R, just off a runway at Logan International Airport, around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

If someone was "riding without permission" in my vehicle, I would consider it to have been stolen. Maybe that is just me.

"Smashed into pier" sounds to me like the boat was traveling at high speed. This tells me that whoever was driving probably had limited-to-no experience piloting a boat.

If you get far enough in the article, you get to some inconvenient facts.

“The vessel involved was taken without authorization and operated outside the knowledge and control of the Club, well after the Club had closed for the day,” the club told WCVB. “We are cooperating fully with all relevant authorities.”

Freedom Boat Club is a way to get access to boats, without owning one outright. Sort of like cross between a timeshare and car rental agency. The club never interested me, so I can't tell you much about it.

Dankert graduated from Union College in 2024. It is odd that they don't mention anything about what she has done since then. Or maybe not so odd. The job market, if you're a "student athlete" from "a small liberal arts school in Schenectady," is probably a tough market.

Whatever the motive turns out to be, it apparently had nothing to do with radicalism on the Brown University campus, which means that apologies are owed to the chubby Palestinian student whom many Internet sleuths had suspected as the gunman.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox are under attack on social media for their response to the deadly officer-involved shooting in the heart of the city on Saturday.

Both Wu and Cox offered condolences to the family of a knife-wielding man who was shot dead by an off-duty officer after he allegedly tried to attack customers inside a Chick-fil-A on Boylston Street on Saturday night.

Yes, it is just shame that he was not able to complete his attack, but instead was shot and killed, thus saving lives, just not his own. Or maybe not.

The city leaders made the comments after the armed suspect, identified as 32-year-old Lemark Jaramillo, chased two people into the popular eatery around 5:30 p.m.

An off-duty officer who happened to be in the restaurant tried to de-escalate the situation, but the suspect allegedly refused to comply, prompting the officer to fatally shoot the man.

Tone deaf. Out of touch. Soft on crime. These are few phrases that come to mind.

I'm Shocked - Shocked I Tell You! - That Politicians Lie and Cheat

OK so I'm not shocked. Battenfeld: Rachael Rollins downfall exposes dark underbelly of politics, media. As far as I can tell, no one tried to steal anything, except an election, but that wouldn't shock me either.

These are the same people who complain about misinformation, and want to censor everything you read, and hear. They are spreading lies, but they believe that is their right. And only their right. "Just shut up and believe what we tell you to believe."

“No mercy. Finish him,” Rollins demanded to Boston City Councilor Ricardo Arroyo in one of their text exchanges about Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden, whose campaign they were trying to torpedo.

While such attitudes may be more common than many think, the public should rightly be horrified by the abuse of power shown by Arroyo and Rollins, and the deep involvement of the media.

I'm not shocked, because I think politicians live for abusing whatever power they can get their hands on. Not all, but especially at the city level.

And the Boston Globe went along and used "anonymous sources" who were trying to smear one of the candidates. Because it was a juicy story. It just wasn't true. That sounds familiar somehow, as if I can hear echos of "Russia, Russia, Russia" in the background.

The Rollins probe has slimed an untrustworthy press and feeds into why an already cynical public hates and doesn’t trust the media.

The twin investigative reports about Rollins also showed how dangerous it is for the public and media to glorify and lionize public officials.

I don't think anything will change, reporters will continue to shield their friends and attack Republicans and moderate Democrats.

"The Authorities" are still confused about the motive, and have not labled the stabbing a hate crime, because that wouldn't be politically correct. So was stabbing a rabbi politically correct?
