The Warner Robins Police Department said an overnight shooting on Ignico Drive that left an 18-year-old dead appeared to be in self-defense.

They don't say why the confrontation happened, but the shooter remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Warner Robins, Georgia, is about a 20 mile drive south of Macon, or about a 100 mile drive south of Atlanta.

The article spends quite a bit of space on a line of thinking that basically boils down to "Neighbors were shocked."

The shooting has some longtime residents worried about what they see as a rise in violence.

"Some." Exactly why do the Professional Journalists™ believe that covering the feelings of a few people mean anything in relation to a story like this? "Some People" feel one way. "Some People" feel differently. What does that mean? Why are feelings important?

DAs HATE Self-Defense

The first grand jury no-billed the case. That didn't satisfy the DA.

The Second Indictment: Despite the initial clearing, then-Towaliga District Attorney Jonathan Adams brought the case back before a second grand jury in January 2026, resulting in an indictment for murder and aggravated assault.

The Disqualification: In March 2026, a judge disqualified the Towaliga DA’s office from the case entirely, citing “forensic misconduct.” The Henry County District Attorney’s office was then assigned to assume control of the prosecution.

After reviewing the case, the new prosecutor dismissed the charges.

This whole thing is unusual because The Towaliga Judicial District is about halfway between Atlanta and Macon. It is so rural, that 3 counties have banded together for the purposes of trials, and prosecutors.

But I guess the fact that DAs hate self-defense is not limited to the blue cities.

Self-Defense Stabbing in Georgia

Investigators say the incident began as a dispute between two friends. Based on preliminary findings, authorities believe another person used a knife in self-defense after being assaulted by the victim.

If someone assaults me, and I defend myself, that person is not a victim, not even if I shoot or stab them, not even if they die. That is what is known as self-defense, provided I am in reasonable fear of death, or grave bodily injury.

Your Home Is Not a Free Fire Zone

Investigators say homeowner Antonio Davis, 49, reported seeing three masked individuals targeting his black 2019 Mercedes-Benz. Davis told deputies he retrieved a firearm and opened fire as the suspects fled, striking Mosley in the leg.

The key part of that statement is, "as the suspects fled."

In most places in the US, you can only use deadly force to defend against imminent threat of death or grave bodily injury. You cannot use deadly force if people are running away.

The homeowner was charged with aggravated assault.

Amazon Driver Defends Himself from Dog Attack

From 11Alive in Atlanta we get the following story. Amazon driver kills neighbor's dog after it attacked him in metro Atlanta neighborhood: deputies

I'm sure a lot of people will be upset by this because they are not rational about dog attacks.

The driver reported the dog was off its runner when it approached and attempted to bite him. Deputies said the driver then shot and killed the dog, according to the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.

The cops are treating it like self-defense.

Coweta County, Georgia, is about a 35 mile drive southwest of downtown Atlanta.

I know that Amazon drivers don't actually work for Amazon. They work for a contracting firm, or maybe it is multiple contracting firms. Does anyone know if Amazon has a policy about drivers being disarmed?

They suffered a failure of the victim-selection process. 2 women shot, arrested after alleged armed robbery

Two women were shot after allegedly arriving at a residence with the intent to commit a robbery, according to a release from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

Coffee County, Georgia is about 95 miles southwest of Savannah, and about 160 miles south-southwest of Atlanta.

The two women had gone to home intending to commit a robbery. After a struggle with the homeowner, the homeowner was able to retrieve a shotgun, and fire one shot. Both women were hit. Cops had them taken to a local hospital, and then taken them to the county lockup.

Police say that both suspects were charged with

• Two counts of aggravated assault
• Two counts of armed robbery
• One count of home invasion in the first degree

Self-defense is a human right, and this did not take place in New York.

Waffle House Fires Waitress Who Defended Customers

This incident is from the end of December, but it just came to my attention. See the hat tip.

Coweta County authorities are looking for three robbery suspects who threatened to shoot everyone inside of a Waffle House.

The robbery happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday at the restaurant on Highway 29 in Newnan.

Deputies said the robbers gave a note to a waitress that threatened to shoot everyone unless she gave them money.

Instead of getting the money, she got her firearm. The bad guys ran like rabbits.

Coweta County, Georgia is about 35 mile drive southwest of Atlanta.

“For trying to protect their Waffle House and trying to protect their money and to get their money back, they let me go,” she said.

A Waffle House spokesperson told Channel 2’s Matt Johnson that they are aware of the situation, but cannot comment on personnel matters.

The company, like most companies, operates under the assumption that cooperating with criminals ensures safety, which is not true. Who is to say that after they get the money, they could decide they don't want any witnesses.

I hope she found a new job, with someone who appreciates her right to defend herself.

The “no weapons” policy inside an establishment that keeps its doors open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is begging for disaster.

Self-Defense Is Legal in Georgia

A murder suspect in Macon has been granted immunity on his most serious charges after he proved to a judge that the person he shot and killed was the aggressor in an incident between them, according to court documents.

There is no duty to retreat in Georgia.

There was also no evidence that Burke had a gun, but other people he was seen with at the gas station appeared to have firearms. The group had been the ones to shoot toward Andrews, prompting him to return fire, according to court documents.

“The evidence … strongly suggests that the Defendant was being shot at from one or more persons located at the front left side of the gas station and that he returned fire as he took cover behind the passenger side of the vehicle,” Mincey said.

He is no longer charged with murder, or manslaughter over the shooting, but it facing charges of being a restricted person in possession of a firearm.

Do I need to mention that Macon is about an 85 mile drive south of Atlanta? Probably.

Self-defense is a human right, and it appears to be a legal right in Georgia.

First He Got Shot, and Then He Was Arrested

This story is out of Savannah, Georgia.

Police determined that Keith King, 46, had been shot in alleged self-defense after an altercation with a female resident at the home. King was charged with simple assault and criminal trespass.

"Alleged Self-defense" is an interesting way to phrase it, but police don't make those determinations, the Prosecutor's office makes that call. Still, it seems clear whose side the police are on.

Self-defense is a human right. Guys, if she say's that it's over, believe her. Go out for a drink with your friends. Do something that won't result with you behind bars.

Domestic Violence Shooting in Georgia

Very little information has been provided, but I have seen a lot of similar stories, that I will make a guess. Domestic violence shooting in Warner Robins leaves man dead | Macon Telegraph

A 911 call came in saying that a man had been shot in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Officers from the Warner Robins Police Department were dispatched to the scene and found a man with “several gunshot wounds,” Stella said.

Warner Robins, Georgia is about a 15 mile drive south of Macon.

My guess is that his ex-partner was in the house where he showed up, and that he was mad about the "ex" part of that statement. Only his attempt to be intimidating, backfired.

In any event, self-defense is a human right.

Another Failure of the Victim-Selection Process

The suspect, police said, entered through the rear of the house and was immediately confronted by the residents inside. A 911 call was made, and when officers arrived, they surrounded the home before entering the residence to arrest the suspect.

They couldn't arrest him, because he was already dead.

Detectives believe the homeowner had already shot the man accused of burglarizing the residence. Crime scene investigators are speaking with witnesses and collecting evidence.

Gwinnett County, Georgia is part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, with the county line being about 13 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, though it would be a slightly longer drive.

Cops don't make the determination of who is charged, and the investigation is just beginning, but they didn't arrest anyone.

Is This an Example of "Crazy People Are Dangerous?"

He was walking through a neighborhood at midnight shooting a firearm. He then approached a house, and threatened the residents.

Gordon and the homeowner shot at each other, and both were injured during the shooting.

The press release says Eastman police responded to the shooting, and found Gordon after he was shot. Gordon was taken to Dodge County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, per the release.

The homeowner was treated and released.

Eastman, Georgia is roughly a 55 mile drive southeast of Macon, or 140 mile drive southeast of Atlanta.

Georgia is fairly in tune with self-defense being a legal right, and it is hard to see how anyone could see this as anything but justified, though I'm sure there are some Leftists who disagree. In any event, self-defense is a human right.

Don't Bring a Knife to a Gunfight

According to investigators, preliminary information indicates the victim was brandishing a knife during an altercation and reportedly attacked a man who was armed. That man then shot the victim, possibly in self-defense.

Dalton, Georgia is about a 90 mile drive north of Atlanta, or about a 30 mile drive southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The guy who did the shooting has not been arrested, because self-defense is your legal right in Georgia. The investigation is continuing.

You would think the bad guys would get the memo about the good guys being armed.

They tried to break into a car, and into a home, but they apparently didn't count on meeting an armed homeowner. Suspects charged after Whitfield County homeowner fires shots during attempted break-ins

A homeowner shot at people he caught trying to break into his car and home on Saturday.

Now, the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office says those suspects face charges.

Whitfield County, Georgia is about a 30 mile drive southeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee, or about a 90 mile drive north of Atlanta.

The homeowner didn't just "shoot at" the suspects, but actually shot one of them, a woman.

Police arrested Tristan Knight for breaking into the vehicle, a felony charge.

The Whitfield County Sheriff's Office says charges are pending for the female suspect, whose identity was not released while she undergoes medical treatment.

Self-defense is a human-right, and Georgia respects it as a legal right.

Journalists Still Struggling With Who Is the Victim

Just because a bad guy suffered a breakdown of the victim-selection process, and came out on the wrong end of a defensive shooting, that does NOT morph him into a victim. He is still a bad-guy, just not very good at being one.

Just after 6 p.m., officers responded to the scene near Sister 2 Sister Cafe Halal. Once there, they said they found a man who had been shot and who later died from his injuries.

After further investigation, officers said they determined the victim was trying to carjack someone else's car and was shot during the crime.

This person was shot while attempting to carjack someone, and was apparently shot by that someone; He is not a victim. Don't expect journalists to understand this.

Also the reporter, or Professional Journalist (so called) seems confused that there is no word on charges against the person who defended himself. Which shows a disdain for, or ignorance of, legal, self-defense, and a lack of understanding of the criminal justice system works. Police do not have final say about charges. That is the job of the District Attorney.

And while the reporter may be a graduate of a liberal college, Georgia as a whole has not morphed into New Jersey.

Dekalb County, Georgia is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The county line is about 3 miles east of downtown Atlanta, and roughly one third is inside the Interstate 285 beltway around that city.

Self-defense is a human right, and seems to be mostly your legal right in Georgia.

Everyone Needs More Practice at the Range

A man who a Georgia sheriff called "a deranged individual" is facing numerous charges after authorities say he tried to break into a child's bedroom overnight.

On Monday, Butts County Sheriff Gary Long said a man, later identified as Abdul Aquil, broke a window in a child's bedroom and tried to enter the home.

Butts County, Georgia is about a 50 mile drive south of Atlanta.

The father confronted Aquil, and he shifted attention to the living room window. The father retrieved a firearm and shot at Aquil as he tried to enter the living room. At that point Aquil decided it was best to be elsewhere.

Long said in a Facebook post, "The shot fired by the homeowner was UNFORTUNATELY about 8 inches too high, missing the intruder, which would have resulted in his death."

That would have saved taxpayers a whole lot of money.

Aquil is charged with burglary, home invasion, terroristic threats, first-degree cruelty to children, second-degree criminal damage to property and obstruction of law enforcement.

How Should a Woman Who Is 9 Months Pregnant Defend Herself?

This is how you deal with a violent ex.

The incident took place after 9 p.m. on the 7600 block of Main Street on Jan. 6. Responding officers learned that a woman had shot a man who allegedly beat on the front door and windows attempting to enter the home. Police stated the woman said the man “was the father of her 2-year-old daughter and that she was currently nine months pregnant with his child as well.”

Grovetown, Georgia is about a 10 mile drive west of Augusta, or about a 135 mile drive east of Atlanta.

She shot him in the arm, and he ran off. Cops tracked him down, provided first aid, had him taken to a local hospital, and then had him taken to the county lockup.

He was arrested on unrelated, outstanding probation warrants and was also charged with Criminal Trespass – Family Violence.

The woman was not injured. She also was not charged, because self-defense is a human right, and Georgia is not New Jersey.

As advocates of the new Georgia law have repeatedly said, it makes it easier to vote, but harder to cheat — and it’s that latter aspect of the law that Abrams and other Democrats deplore. There was massive “ballot harvesting” in Georgia in 2020, but they won’t be able to play that trick this year, which is one reason why Team Trump feels pretty confident about Georgia.

Good Guys. Bad Guys. What's the Difference?

Hard to tell in this case. Off-duty Atlanta police officer shot, killed while breaking into Douglas County home, deputies say | FOX 11 Los Angeles

Yes you read that headline correctly. An off-duty Atlanta police officer was breaking into someone's home, about a half mile from his own home.

"On an attempted burglary, understanding, at this time, that a person attempted to gain entry into the residence behind," the sheriff said. "When he gained entrance, the homeowner produced a firearm in self-defense and shot the individual. At this time, the individual is deceased."

At this time and all future times.

Investigators say the officer lives in the neighborhood, about a half-mile walk way, and may have been having a mental health episode or was under the influence of narcotics.

He was awarded "Officer of the Year" at the "Crime is Toast" breakfast on 24 September.
