It is hard to believe numbers when it is clear everything else the government told us about the pandemic was a lie. Almost everything else. Lies, Damned Lies, and COVID-19 : The Other McCain

I have been ignoring (almost) everything about COVID at this point. I don't expect Fauci, or anyone else really, to be held accountable for the insanity. Apparently the recent kerfuffle is about a statement from David Frum. The Other McCain dug a little deeper into what his statistics were.

Public opinion is a funny thing. Even "expert opinion" can be an issue. If 2/3rds of the population of the Earth believe that the world is flat, does that make them right? Look up what "expert opinion" was during Galileo's day, and what they did to him for daring to challenge that opinion.

Just don't turn your back on disgruntled scientists. Scientist accused of poisoning co-worker’s water bottle after being denied promotion, authorities say

According to a criminal complaint, a person who works at the Influenza Research Institute at the University of Wisconsin‑Madison noticed an odd smell coming from his water bottle on April 4 and said it tasted strange.

He also reported an odd smell coming from his shoes and a grocery bag, and told another employee, who then called police.

A lab test of the water bottle revealed a high level of chloroform.

41‑year‑old Makoto Kuroda confessed to that, and putting paraformaldehyde - an extremely toxic substance - in the victim’s drink.

Why? Because the victim didn't follow all the rules.

Kuroda also allegedly became upset when the employee was promoted and Kuroda was not.

But trust the science.

60,000 Deaths from the COVID Vaccine in Germany?

The man formerly responsible for testing toxicity of medicines at Pfizer warns of up to 60 000 deaths from covid vaccines in Germany.

The phrase, "up to," is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence. In other articles, the numbers quoted were between 20,000 and 60,000.

Don't expect this to be covered by the legacy media. The narrative must be protected.

This is absolutely groundbreaking news. Yet I have not seen this being reported extensively in the mainstream media at all.

In fact, this news is so big that it should have warranted headline news WORLDWIDE. But it hasn’t.

Who Benefits?

Paul Ehrlich was a distinguished evolutionary biologist who spent most of his career at Stanford University. He was also a highly respected environmentalist with all the proper credentials, and a media darling. (Johnny Carson alone had him on over a dozen times.) The Population Bomb was read by millions of people and reprinted no less than 20 times, making it one of the most consequential environmental books of the 20th century. And, just like An Inconvenient Truth, it was complete and total fiction.

Opportunists like Gore and Ehrlich have always been with us and always will be. The most charitable thing we can say about them today is that they were wrong, but I’m not feeling charitable these days. I’m looking instead, for the next grifter who wants to prosper by scaring me about the coming apocalypse, in whatever form it might take.

Are we shocked, that after 20 years, the doom and gloom from An Inconvenient Truth turned out to be wrong?

Believe the Science? Not With This Much Fraud

For decades, scientists were above reproach. Not any more. Joe Nocera investigates the murky world of fraudulent research, and the sleuths exposing dishonest science.

As these things often do, it starts with a single instance.

Theo Baker was the son of two journalists, so when he enrolled in Stanford, he joined The Stanford Daily. He began an investigation of neuroscientist Marc Tessier-Lavigne.

Tessier-Lavigne had become rich based on some research into Alzheimer’s disease.

Except that, as Baker was discovering, the supposed breakthrough was nothing of the sort. Inside Genentech, he discovered, some of the company’s top executives believed “that the research had been based on falsified data.” At least one believed the problems were serious enough that Tessier-Lavigne should retract the paper. He refused. It also turned out that Genentech had been unable to replicate Tessier-Lavigne’s results, casting further doubt on their veracity. But this fact was never disclosed to shareholders or the general public. By 2012, a year after Tessier-Lavigne left the company, Genentech quietly abandoned its research effort based on the 2009 paper.

Science has a fraud problem. Scientific progress requires experiments that rigorously and objectively test hypotheses. Yet a surprising number of experiments conducted today are neither rigorous nor objective. Science is now rife with retracted papers, doctored images, and hyped results. Scientists have sometimes replaced the images from one experiment with images from a different one to make the results look better. They have made claims unjustified by the underlying research. And far too often, they’ve designed experiments that aren’t really experiments at all because the results are preordained.

Was this downplayed in the media cycle, and I just didn't see it, or has it been buried by the media? Sen. Rand Paul announces legislation to end liability shield for vaccine manufacturers

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul announced legislation that would remove liability shields from civil claims for vaccine manufacturers.

The “End the Vaccine Carveout Act” was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Paul and cosponsored by Utah Sen. Mike Lee. The act was introduced in the House by Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar.

It is crazy to me that Big Pharma can release poorly-tested poison, and not face any repercussions. But that is Washington DC. This is especially true when you realize that they changed the definition of vaccine so that the COVID jab was covered by the liability shield.

“If a drug hurts someone, you can sue the company in court. You can hold them responsible through the normal legal process,” Sen. Paul said in a press release. “But when it comes to vaccines, and in many cases the COVID vaccine, the rules are rigged: you’re funneled into a federal no-fault program that limits damages, restricts your options, and — in many cases — leaves people without real justice. That’s cronyism."

Fauci Knew That Natural Immunity Was Superior to Vaccine and Still Pushed to Require It

In other words, for anybody who had suffered a previous infection or who was otherwise healthy, the vaccine presented more risk of harm than good. Their explanation for choosing to insist that the vaccine was safe and effective for everyone was that they didn't want to present a "mixed message" and that it was easier to communicate a blanket recommendation than a nuanced one.

Except...the vaccine is not entirely benign. It has risks, and imposing those risks on people who didn't need to take it is unethical.

The real question is how much money Fauci made off of the vaccines. I doubt we will ever know.

But it is clear that he and his whole team of non-nuanced communicators need to charged for every vaccine injury that was incurred by people who did not need to take that risk. Nature Magazine: The Sky Is Falling. Or Maybe Not

From John Sexton at Hot Air: Nature Retracted a Study Predicting Global Economic Catastrophe

In April of 2024, the scientific journal Nature published an article titled "The economic commitment of climate change." The conclusion of the paper's authors was that climate change would lead to spectacular catastrophe for the world's economy both in the medium term and the longer term. This message, that the world's hair was on fire because of climate change, was immediately picked up and spread far and wide by the media.

Central Banks jumped on the insanity to set policy, because of course they did.

In other words, this wasn't just more screechy climate catastrophism it was going to have a major impact on banks around the globe. Only it turned out the paper all of this was based on was bogus. Those terrible predictions were not supportable.

In fact, it turned out that most of the bad news was the result of data for just one country: Uzbekistan.

It took more than a year for the report to be retracted. It was retracted last week.

Why should the public trust Nature when it chooses to publish junk science like this and then takes well over a year to retract it?

Trust the science. Just don't put too much faith in the scientists or their journals.

UK Government Refuses to Release Data on Excess Deaths

Because nothing says "trust us about the science" like hiding the data the science is based on. Government ‘withholding data that may link Covid jab to excess deaths’

The public health watchdog has been accused of a “cover-up” after refusing to publish data that could link the Covid vaccine to excess deaths.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) argued that releasing the data would lead to the “distress” of bereaved relatives if a link were to be discovered.

They also said that the public was too stupid to understand the data anyway. Almost.

“You have to ask yourself why it is that the public are considered incapable of handling this data. It reveals a patronising mindset, which also characterised the pandemic response – ‘do what we say, don’t ask any questions, we know what is best for you’.”

It is begining to look like they know what the data will show - they did release all of the data to Big Pharma - and they don't want the truth to come to light.

"Trust the science!" Fine. Let me verify your data. "Trust me and only me!" Not a chance.

New study finds that during the early pandemic period, only 14% of PCR “COVID cases” were real — proving that lockdowns and vaccine mandates were built on a fraudulent testing illusion.

This is the science that we are supposed to trust.

A bombshell peer-reviewed study out of Germany just dismantled the scientific foundation used to justify lockdowns, social distancing, and vaccine mandates.

Researchers analyzed data from the Akkreditierte Labore in der Medizin (ALM) — a nationwide consortium of authority-accredited medical laboratories that performed roughly 90% of all SARS-CoV-2 PCR tests in Germany between 2020 and 2023.

A couple of the conclusions:

• Mass PCR testing grossly inflated case numbers worldwide.
• Lockdowns and mandates were built on a false metric.
• Authorities suppressed representative serology data.

That government that was suppressing data was the German government, but I'm pretty sure that the US, Canadian, Australian, and British governments were also suppressing the data.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) hub for foreign biological threats dismissed the intelligence pointing to a lab accident in Wuhan as “misinformation” in January 2021, two former government sources who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive internal meetings told the Daily Caller News Foundation. New documents show that intelligence risked implicating ODNI’s own bioengineering advisor — University of North Carolina professor Ralph Baric.

The government is lying to you about everything. The deep state is built on lies. The important point is that it seems they lied to Congress.

The new documents shed a bit of light on a question members of Congress have posed for years: Whether our own intelligence agencies knew more about the likelihood of a lab origin of COVID than they told the public.

The Race to the Bottom in Science

Science is broken. I've been writing about this since at least 2016 with a post on the 357 Magnum Archives. For a lot of my youth I wanted to be a researcher. And then I spent a summer attached to a research group at one of the national labs. I also got far enough along in my studies to actually decode an article or two in a scientific journal. Underneath all of the scientific gibberish and academic prolixity, it was more gibberish. I decided that isn't what I wanted to do.

Sabine Hossenfelder has a video on the existence of scientific research as a planned economy. It is working about as well as any other planned economy, which is to say, it isn't working.

While I do like the video, I have to admit that it is not her most entertaining video, because it is just her sitting at her desk. The issue is important, however.

In the literature it’s been called “the natural selection of bad science.” Basically the problem is that bad science is easier than real science. So if no one checks the use of the research, the bad science will take over. And that’s what we’re seeing.

Is Consensus Science?

Yesterday, [10 August] the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) stormed into federal court, clutching their pearls and a 40-page complaint, to demand that the EPA and Department of Energy be stopped from—brace yourself—listening to people who don’t think “climate change” is the meteorological equivalent of Armageddon.

They have to silence people who don't agree with them. Sounds like cancel culture.

The complaint is a parade of consensus incantations—“overwhelming scientific consensus,” “ocean of evidence,” “confirmed time and again”—interrupted only by ad hominem swipes at the Working Group’s résumés and reading lists. Curry, they note with horror, has criticized the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for “corruption.” Koonin once worked for BP. Spencer testified on behalf of a coal company. In other words, these people are contaminated by thoughtcrime.

Don't Trust the Science - Too Much is Fraudulent

Too much of it is fraudulent. It is a problem; in the short term there is a lot of fraud. In the long run... Fraudulent research is 'destroying trust in science'

Organized networks are infiltrating the academic publishing system to promote fake science, say experts investigating research fraud. A new study highlights the major challenge for modern science.

Researchers get rewarded for publishing. They get to add to their curriculum vitae, or CV. It is basically the academic's résumé. They get grants. They get to keep their jobs. They get hired for better positions. It is not in their best interests to pursue the truth; it is in their best interests to publish anything they can.

Since they have to publish, they publish a lot of schlock.

A new study has found that networks of bad actors work together to publish bogus research. The findings, published in the journal PNAS this week, came from analyzing more than 5 million scientific articles published across 70,000 journals.

"There are groups of editors conspiring to publish low-quality articles, at scale, escaping traditional peer review processes," said the study's lead author Reese Richardson, a social scientist at Northwestern University in the US.

And this isn't just a problem for the Universities.

For example, researchers found evidence of image manipulation in a landmark study about Alzheimer's disease. The paper was eventually retracted and the lead scientist resigned, but [Anna] Abalkina [a social scientist at the Free University of Berlin] said billions of dollars in research funding and years of research had already been invested from one bad study.

So when someone tells you to "trust the science," ask them exactly what science they are talking about, since a lot of it is fraudulent.

It is important to note that despite the cuts from D.O.G.E, the US government does pay for a lot of scientific research, and as you can see from the example with Alzheimer's disease, it does impact a lot of things. Years of research, and billions of dollars wasted because of a "manipulated" image and a bad study.

Science Isn't What You Think It Is

From Retraction Watch, we get a story of academic irregularity, if not fraud. Frontiers to retract 122 articles, links thousands in other publishers’ journals to “unethical” network

Science is a human endeavor, and so subject to trends, fads, politics and shady dealings.

The publisher Frontiers has begun retracting a batch of 122 articles across five journals after an investigation found a network of authors and editors engaged in “unethical actions” such as manipulating citations and reviewing papers without disclosing conflicts of interest.

Those 122 articles fan out to be used in 4000 articles in different "Peer Reviewed" journals. So called.

The latest tranche of retractions began to appear July 28. By our count, at least 25 were posted that day. According to one of the notices, which are identical for each paper, the publisher’s investigation “identified this article as one for which the integrity of the peer review process has been undermined, resulting in the loss of confidence in the article’s findings.”

Somebody once said “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.”

There is a lot of money involved. You have to publish to get grant funding. And so people publish, even if what they have to say is not very interesting, or just plain wrong.

When "Settled Science" Is Wrong

When fads in science are excepted as the only viable path, it stops being science, and just becomes a lot of grant money flowing through the system. The maddening saga of how an Alzheimer’s ‘cabal’ thwarted progress toward a cure for decades

In the 30 years that biomedical researchers have worked determinedly to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, their counterparts have developed drugs that helped cut deaths from cardiovascular disease by more than half, and cancer drugs able to eliminate tumors that had been incurable. But for Alzheimer’s, not only is there no cure, there is not even a disease-slowing treatment.

So why is that?

In more than two dozen interviews, scientists whose ideas fell outside the dogma recounted how, for decades, believers in the dominant hypothesis suppressed research on alternative ideas: They influenced what studies got published in top journals, which scientists got funded, who got tenure, and who got speaking slots at reputation-buffing scientific conferences.

In other words, their pet theory became the accepted dogma, and if you wanted to sit at the "cool kids table" you had better get in line. Too bad none of that worked.

Vaccines, Injuries, and Money

AS I HAVE previously mentioned in many such articles, the covid vaccines were never necessary, nor are they effective. Indeed, they have inflicted more misery, damage and death than perhaps any other medical intervention ever.

On top of the cardiac, blood clotting and many autoimmune diseases such as Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) that the vaccine has triggered, it is now accepted that the rise in cancer cases, especially the newly identified ‘turbo’ cancers are indeed associated in particular with the booster shots.

Of course they had to redefine the term vaccine to get these to apply.

And of course the "medical establishment is working overtime to get any study of the "vaccines" killed in the cradle, or stangled before it can see the light of day.

Most published scientific papers pointing out these issues are plagued by efforts to have the papers retracted. It is therefore worth highlighting a current Japanese study, SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in cerebral Arteries: Implications for hemorrhagic stroke Post-mRNA vaccination, recently published in the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience. It clearly shows the presence of the COV-SARS-2 spike protein in cerebral arteries. The study involved 19 patients who had a hemorrhagic stroke post mRNA vaccination. Full details are given, with 43.8 per cent of these patients clearly showing the spike protein in the intima (innermost coating) of the cerebral arteries. Findings show it was still present in patients up to 17 months post vaccination.

Eli Lilly’s CEO, David Ricks. That company makes weight-loss drugs to compete with Ozempic.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla ranked third, with a total compensation of $24.6million — his second-highest annual salary after his $33million payout in 2022, when Pfizer was reaping massive profits from its covid vaccine and its antiviral Paxlovid.
