Philadelphia DA Krasner Could Face Charges

This story is from The Other McCain. LARRY KRASNER IS COOKED! Philly D.A. Could Face Federal Charges

NEVER LIE TO THE JUDGE! On any list of “Things a Lawyer Should Never Do,” lying to the judge must always be No. 1. Let me summarize this complex story as briefly as possible: With financial backing from George Soros, Larry Krasner became Philadelphia’s District Attorney in 2018, and immediately instituted a policy of leniency, which he sought to make retroactive by cooperating with the Innocence Project to overturn previous convictions.

Because there is nothing that the Left loves more than to turn violent criminals free.

I'm no monster, and innocent people should not be in prison. That isn't what was going on here.

There is one particular case, that is causing Krasner problems. It is the case of Dennis Johnson, who was convicted of murdering Kenyatta Smith in a convenience store in 2007.

The DA was eager to see the conviction overturned, but when the judge in the case started holding hearings on the matter, panic set in. Krasner apparently pressured staffers to lie to the judge, to the point where Judge Paul S. Diamond referred the matter to the US Attorney's office, saying that the DA might have committed conspiracy or obstruction of Justice. Krasner and Matthew Stiegler (a supervisor in the DA's office) can no longer work on Dennis Johnson's case, as per Judge Diamond.

It isn't clear (to me) why Stiegler was included in that restriction, but I have not researched every detail about this case. Yet.

Ace of Spades has a good rundown here. I am not a lawyer, and understand that Larry Krasner is “presumed innocent,” yadda yadda yadda, but based on my four decades of experience as a journalist, it is my opinion that Krasner is guilty — GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!

Click thru for the meme (you have to page down) and more details. OK, it isn't exactly a meme. It is a frame from an old, and once venerated comic, Doonesbury. (The author of the comic, seems to have a severe case of TDS these days. I'm afraid it might be terminal.)

How Do Prosecutors Ignore Evidence in a Murder Trial for Months?

Ignoring evidence for 21 or 22 months seems like malpractice, somehow. MOM WALKS FREE: Prosecutors dump murder charges against mom who shot husband after 5-hour tape backs self-defense

So in October of 2024, Latoya Crabbe killed her estranged husband Curtis Crabbe. There exists an audio recording that covers 5 hours of the day in question. Prosecutors ignored that evidence until August of 2026.

In a statement released this afternoon, the office said prosecutors and investigators from the Manassas City Police Department recently accessed a previously unexamined five-hour audio recording recovered from a digital device seized during the investigation. The recording captured conversations and events immediately leading up to the shooting.

“Following an exhaustive review of the audio and its transcript, the Commonwealth has concluded that the recording introduces significant evidence that a reasonable jury could interpret as supporting a claim of lawful self-defense,” the statement notes

At least she hasn't been in jail, awaiting trial the entire time. She has been free on bond.

So what causes prosecutors to ignore evidence for months? October 2024 until August 2026 is a long time. Because they hate the idea of self-defense, and are happy to ignore anything that might interfere with their case. Well, that is how it seems to me. I'm sure if you asked the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, they would have a more reasonable excuse reason.

At least the Prince William County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office eventually got to the evidence, and admitted that self-defense is legal in Virginia.

The Justice System in Chicago is Broken

The inmates are running the show in Cook County. Releasing suspected cop killer on an ankle monitor wasn't a mistake, top judge says - CWB Chicago

You have to work hard to be this tone deaf.

The decision to release a five-time felon with four pending felony cases, including two violent robberies, on electronic monitoring was not a mistake, Cook County’s chief judge says, even though that man is now accused of going on to murder a Chicago police officer and gravely wounding the fallen officer’s partner.

He said, basically, how could you know what he would do?

Retired Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel had a response to Beach’s rhetorical question: “How do you predict another person’s actions? Start with the obvious—his criminal history.”

Click thru for all the details, including how he ended up shooting two police officers.

Hat tip to Second City Cop: The Chief Judge said What???

The fact that an asshole judge can say thing like this without any fear of political (or other) repercussions is truly a crying shame.

Could it be a factor that the top judge quoted in the article, and the judge who released this monster are friends?

Phoenix Cop Not Charged for Killing Homeowner

Not a surprise. No charges for Phoenix Police officer who mistakenly shot and killed homeowner | FOX 10 Phoenix

The backstory: The officer in question, Jason Valenzuela, was involved in a shooting that killed Christian Diaz on Jan. 26, 2026. Diaz had disarmed an intruder at his home near 75th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

He basically showed up, shouted, and opened fire in a handful of seconds.

Qualified Immunity is lovely, if you're a cop.

AI Hallucinations from Wall Street Law Firm

Stop using AI for important stuff. Sullivan & Cromwell law firm apologizes for AI 'hallucinations' in court filing

This would be funny if it wasn't happening all the time. The client in the case should sue for every dollar they've spent with S&C in the past 3 years. And then some.

April 21 (Reuters) - Sullivan & Cromwell, a premier Wall Street law firm, apologized to a federal judge for submitting a court filing with inaccurate citations and other errors generated by artificial intelligence.

The unstated undercurrent... "Please don't disbar us for being stupid!"

This is from X. (The NYT article is behind a paywall - as they all are)

  • Fictitious Case Names: The filing included names of legal cases that do not exist
  • Fabricated Quotes: The document contained direct quotes that were never actually spoken or written
  • Non-existent Statutes: The AI incorrectly analyzed or entirely invented provisions within the U.S. Bankruptcy Code

Are you using AI to do your work? God help you, because the AI will not.

I don't actually know if the partners charge that $2000 per hour, but I wouldn't be surprised. This is how S&C describe themselves:

Sullivan & Cromwell LLP provides the highest quality legal advice and representation to clients around the world. The results the Firm achieves have set it apart for more than 140 years and have become a model for the modern practice of law.

They might need to rethink that "modern practice of law" part.

Large Language Models are NOT Truth models. They do not know what is true. They know what sounds good.

Is The Buffalo City School System Obstructing an Investigation?

There was an incident in the Buffalo City Schools system, where an outsider gained access to a school and tried to abduct two children. It came to light in April of last year when Buffalo Police Detective Richard Hy (Angry Cops) went on the Unsubscribe Podcast and blew the top off the cover-up.

Since then, it sounds like the Buffalo District Attorney's Office is saying that the school district, and their legal team, is obstructing the investigation.

Richard Hy states in this video that his children will never attend Buffalo Public Schools, apparently because he has seen too much.

This is the Unsubscribe Clips video Buffalo Public Schools Are REFUSING To Protect Children - SVU Detective Exposes Investigation. It is a 20 minute video, but I think it is worth your time.

That is the highlights reel. The full episode, Unsubscribe Podcast 256: Police Detective Breaks Down The Buffalo Public Schools Investigation, which is one hour and 28 minutes. I have not made it all the way through the full episode. Yet. But I intend to.

Biden's DOJ Weaponized Against Trump

From Matt Margolis at PJ Media: Records Prove Biden's DOJ Ordered Mar-a-Lago Raid Over FBI Objections

The picture of the Biden administration's weaponization of federal law enforcement keeps getting uglier. New records that Judicial Watch obtained reveal that the FBI's own agents believed there was no legal basis for the Aug. 8, 2022, raid on Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home, and they said so repeatedly.

The Biden DOJ didn't care.

Because it wasn't about Justice. It was about smearing Trump.

The records show FBI agents spent five weeks pushing back on the probable cause question, time they said was "counterproductive" to the stated goal of protecting classified information.

Small(ish) Towns Can Be the Worst

Racist Gun Control in Chicago

Chicago PD doesn't not have the best history when it comes to actually enforcing the law. Black gun owners in Chicago charged with felonies despite valid FOID cards, CCLs; say they're traumatized - CBS Chicago

An investigation by CBS News Chicago uncovered several times where police stopped Black gun owners for minor traffic violations and then charged them with felonies -- even though they had legal firearm licenses.

It is not just the cops. The prosecutors are happy to file charges without doing the least research.

One of those drivers is 46-year-old Louis McWilliams, a Tinley Park resident who owns a local cheesecake company, Ann's Flavored Cheesecakes. He was charged with a felony in April after being pulled over on Chicago's South Side on his way to a business meeting. The case was later dismissed.

I'm no lawyer, but it sounds like legal action might be appropriate against Chicago PD and the lawyers. And at least one is planned.

CPD is also not giving the guns back.

Williams has not received his gun back from CPD. And despite a court order from a judge, neither has Washington.

Self-Defense Is Legal in Utah

I suspected that it was. Judge rules in favor of defendant who claimed he acted in self-defense in Cedar City road rage shooting

A judge has dismissed multiple felony charges filed against a motorcyclist who allegedly shot another man during a road rage confrontation in Cedar City in June 2024, with the court ruling the defendant had discharged his handgun in self-defense.

Cedar City, Utah is about a 250 mile drive south of Salt Lake City, or roughly a 170 mile drive northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada.

There are still more charges, but not aggravated assault.

And because, even in roughly rural Utah, DAs HATE self-defense.

Prosecutors are considering appealing the court’s decision, Deputy Iron County Attorney Trajan Evans told Cedar City News on Tuesday.

This is aside from the fact that there is video of the guy who got shot walking toward the defendant after there had been a punch thrown by the guy who got shot.

“At this time, Stolworthy testified he could not see out of his left eye, his nose had been ruptured, he could taste blood, and then he can hear Mabbitt coming at him and saying something like ‘you're (obscenity) dead,’” the court document states.

The judge ruled that he had a reasonable belief he faced more of the same, and so defending himself was legal.

But the DA wants to win. Why? Because DAs don't care about Justice; they care about winning.

Oh, and the guy who threw the first punch? He hasn't been charged. Maybe getting shot constitutes punishment, but isn't that battery?

For the time being, self-defense is legal in Utah.

Even More on the Buffalo School System

It has been a few weeks since the guys at Unsubscribe Podcast first took aim at the Buffalo School System. On Saturday, they published another video. This one contains a whole bunch of receipts: Some info on school board members and the superintendent of the district being sorority sisters, some info on the local DA, and more stories from more schools. How the school district hires law firms to do "Third Party Investigations" of whatever has gone wrong (and a lot has gone wrong) so that the results are attorney-client privilege, and are NEVER disclosed to the public.

This is the Unsubscribe Podcast, Episode #214: ALARMING PROOF: Buffalo Schools EXPOSED For Hiding Child Abuse Evidence. It is quite a long video at an hour and 25 minutes, but full of good stuff. The beautiful thing about YouTube or Rumble videos is you don't have to watch them in one sitting.

Buffalo Public Schools Burying the Truth - 2022 Edition

From WGRZ in Buffalo, New York comes another story about a Public School cover up. BPS never released McKinley H.S. shooting investigation report, not even to Buffalo Police

The Buffalo Public School District apparently has a history of not cooperating with police and/or the district attorney's office to get crimes solved and criminals out of the schools. Angry Cops (BPD Detective Rich Hy), together with the crew from The Unsubscribe Podcast, Donut Operator, Fat Electrician, Eli Double-Tap, and TheAKGuy are starting to hold their feet to the fire. It seems to be catching on with at least some of the media.

More than three years after a shooting and stabbing at McKinley High School, an investigative report of that incident conducted by the Buffalo School District has still not been released publicly.

In fact, the report wasn't shared with Buffalo Police, either.

The district says the report has attorney-client privilege, and so cannot be shared.

WGRZ has asked a BPS spokesperson to clarify why an investigation into a shooting and stabbing at a high school that caused an hours long lockdown would be privileged information and we are still waiting for that clarification.

None of the Powers that Be in New York seem interested in the crimes in that school district. The NYS Attorney General, Leticia James, has no interest in investigating anything. I think it will take Fat Electrician, who is currently doing a lot of the digging and data collection, will have to lead the charge.

The Downfall Of the Judiciary

Or at least the collapse of any respect they once had. American Thinker brings us Judge Not

As the prior outrageous injunctions by a number of (judge-shopped) District Courts make their way up the judicial ladder, even more of them were issued this week. I think everything the President has done is the object of at least one District Court injunction. In the meantime, corruption of the judiciary has become so overt that two judges were placed under arrest this week.

Some of the more egregious issues are mentioned. And then there's this.

Two judges were arrested this week, and media reports largely downplayed the extent of their crimes. One, Juan Cano in New Mexico, was arrested for harboring a Tren de Aragua member in his home and obstructing justice by destroying evidence against the alien.

Destroying evidence of a federal crime, federal GUN crime, would seem to be beyond the pale. But liberals, including judges, are no longer interested in the rule of law. They really haven't been in a very long time.

Hat tip to Stately McDaniel Manor: Dying On A Judicial Resistance Hill. Judge Cano was harboring some illegal gang members.

When ICE arrested several of them, Cano resigned his position, and last week his wife and he were arrested for harboring those gang bangers. AT contributor Clarice Feldman provides additional information the lamestream media is largely avoiding about the probable cause for that arrest:

That probable cause was providing guns to prohibited persons. That's right, giving guns to gang members.

During his FBI interview, former judge Cano — after being Mirandized — straight-up confessed that he’d found Ortega’s missing cellphone, smashed it with a hammer, and threw it in a city dumpster. Cano explained he did it because he knew it had pictures and videos of Ortega with guns — which were direct evidence of federal gun crimes and gang activity. [Ref. the article linked at the top]

Disney Promised an Allergen-Free Restaurant - Now Doesn't Want to Face Suit

Of all the crazy stuff that I've seen corporations do, this might be the craziest. Widower of doctor who suffered fatal allergic reaction rips Disney subscription defense

Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant is a restaurant in Disney Springs. You don't need to go into the parks to eat there. If you are in Orlando, you can drive up and have a meal.

[Kanokporn “Amy”] Tangsuan, 42 — a physician at NYU Langone hospital — had repeatedly notified the restaurant staff of her severe nut and dairy allergies when ordering scallops, onion rings, broccoli and corn fritters, Piccolo’s suit claimed.

But after leaving the establishment she started having difficulty breathing and collapsed and was unable to be saved by the EpiPen she was immediately given.

"The autopsy listed death as a result of anaphylaxis due to elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system."

They did everything they could to ensure safety, and someone blew it off.

The complaint details the family's repeated conversations with their waiter about Tangsuan's allergies. The family allegedly raised the issue upfront, inquired about the safety of specific menu items, had the server confirm with the chef that they could be made allergen-free and asked for confirmation "several more times" after that.

If an EpiPen won't save you from anaphylaxis, then you have ingested more the a trace of what you are allergic to.

Okay. So this is a tragedy, and someone should probably pay. But that is not how Disney feels.

It seems that Jeffrey Piccolo, Amy Tansuan's husband, signed up for a Disney+ trial in 2019. Based on that, Disney is maintaining that Jeffery Piccolo agreed to arbitration. Disney is a soulless abomination. They are basically saying - as I see it - that they want to screw this guy over because they can't be bothered to do the things they said it would do.

Do You Expect "The System" to Pursue Justice?

The System™ doesn't care about Justice. New Mexico family peeved at plea deal for killer brothers

A New Mexico judge sentenced two brothers in a 2022 murder after an argument over a car.

Court records show 25-year-old Tyler Chaffin pleaded no contest to second-degree murder while 21-year-old Eli Chaffin pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of 37-year-old William Johnson. The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a home shortly after noon on July 24, 2022, for a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found Johnson dead.

The family of the guy who got shot was not happy with this outcome. I think they are justified in being unhappy.

“When you shoot someone in the back, I don’t know how you get more intentional than that,” the victim’s mother, Penny Johnson Jones reportedly said.

Johnson’s former wife Lacey Dillingham reportedly said the deals were “a slap in all of our faces” and “outrageous.”

What it basically comes down to is that prosecutors can't be bothered to prosecute crime. It is long and tedious, and they have more important things to do. I don't know what would be more important than holding murderers accountable, but the prosecutors don't see things the way I do.

At least they are going to do some time in prison. Not enough.

Will Police Be Held Accountable for Uvalde?

This is a first step, but I doubt that it will come to anything in the end. Uvalde school shooting: Pete Arredondo indicted over police response

A 10-count indictment made public Friday accuses former Uvalde school district police chief Pete Arredondo of 10 missteps that led to the botched law enforcement response to an active shooter who killed 19 children and two teachers in May 2022.

Authorities booked Arredondo on Thursday into the county jail, where he spent about 90 minutes before being released on bond.

A grand jury also indicted former school district police officer Adrian Gonzales, whose role has been less public in the two years and one month since the shooting. He had not been booked into jail as of Friday, and an indictment in his case remains under seal.

There is the thing called Limited Immunity, which in practice, is more like Unlimited Immunity. It is a doctrine, created out of whole cloth, by the courts. It means you basically can't hold the cops accountable unless they violate your civil rights, in very specific ways. The cops have no duty to protect you, not even if you have a court order of protection. None of the students or teachers had such court orders. I don't see how the prosecution will overcome that. In the end, I believe this is a political move by the DA to gain points with the community.

And here is a reminder of who the biggest group of losers were, on that day in Uvalde, Texas. Namely, the Uvalde PD Swat Team. (They sure look cool in their fancy outfits, but they are about as useful as a screen door in a submarine.) The photo was taken from the Uvalde PD website around the time of the shooting. 14 Defensive Gun Uses

And a swipe at the insanity of Hawaii's court. 14 Defensive Gun Uses That Show Armed Citizens Matter

Hawaii’s high court last week thumbed its nose at the U.S. Supreme Court’s Second Amendment jurisprudence, declaring that the right to bear arms in public clashes with the “Aloha spirit” and therefore doesn’t really apply in that state.

That’s right. The Hawaii Supreme Court believes it can water down and reinterpret the federal Bill of Rights, because—well— “vibes.”

Politicians Lie, Even If They Are Also Lawyers

It is in their nature to lie. Trump Prosecutor Fani Willis Caught in Another HUGE Lie

Are most politicians lawyers? In this case, she's a prosecutor, but she is still a politician.

She went to a church to play the race card about hiring a Special Prosecutor that she was also sleeping with. And she had to lie about the payments.

She hired 3 Special Prosecutors. and said - in church - that they all were getting the same pay. They weren't.

Willis knows that this isn’t about race, but she couldn’t stop herself from lying in a house of God. She even doubled down on the lie, claiming that all three attorneys were paid the same rate.

They weren’t.

"Willis was not only romantically involved with Wade, but [she also] benefited from a 'lucrative' contract her office awarded to Wade,” reports the Daily Caller. "As recently as May 2023, her office paid the attorney considered Georgia’s top racketeering expert, John Floyd, only $200 per hour, while Wade — who reportedly has little to no experience prosecuting RICO cases — was earning $250 an hour, according to billing statements obtained by the DCNF."

Wade was also billing a lot more hours than the other 2. You can click thru for those details.

Then there is the fact that Wade is a bastard toward his ex-wife. From the NY Post we get the following. Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade splurged on lavish trips with Fani Willis while ex-wife struggled ‘without any means of financial support’: court docs

The ex claimed in a motion for expenses filed last month and obtained by The Post, that Wade has left her with next to nothing, despite him having earned more than $650,000 in legal fees from the Trump case alone since 2022.

That court filing alleges that Joycelyn is in “dire need of financial support” because she is unemployed after having been a “stay-at-home mom for 26 years” and has “no access to marital funds.”

Like I said, a bastard.

More details at that link as well.

"I take confidence in God's wrath" - Or - Uvalde Police Will Not Face Justice

There will be no consequences for the cops who did nothing. Cops have no duty to protect you. When they don't protect you, they haven't done anything illegal. Even if what they did was wrong, I don't see how they can be called to account. Criminal probe of police actions during Uvalde school shooting will continue into 2024, prosecutor says - CBS News. This story is from December.

Someone might be fired, or retire early. But I don't think you can say they did anything illegal, when they have no duty to protect the public. And they certainly didn't protect anyone that day.

There are investigations, or at least one anyway, still going on.

A Texas prosecutor says a criminal investigation into police failures during the Uvalde school shooting will continue into 2024, pushing back expectations that a grand jury would convene before the end of the year.

Uvalde County District Attorney Christina Mitchell said earlier this week that her staff is still examining the halting and haphazard police response to the May 2022 shooting that left 19 students and two teachers dead. Investigators sent Mitchell their preliminary findings in January and she previously said prosecutors would present evidence related on the massacre to a grand jury this year.

The Texas Rangers either concluded their investigation last Janurary or in July, there seems to be some confusion in the article. Now it is up to the DA, and she is dragging her feet. Or that is what the population believes.

The possibility of criminal charges against some of the nearly 400 officers who rushed to Robb Elementary School but waited more than an hour to confront and kill the shooter has hung over Uvalde since state lawmakers faulted law enforcement at every level with failing "to prioritize saving innocent lives over their own safety." The issue has divided the close-knit community of 15,000 and, as the timeline for the criminal investigation has expanded, so has the frustration of some victims' families with the district attorney.

What would you charge them with? Felonly assholishness? Felony stupidity? Cowardice in the face of the enemy? None of those charges work.

The public wants charges because the public (wrongly) believes that the cops have a duty to protect you. That is what the Left says every day. "Rely on the State. The Police Will Protect You." Or maybe not.

This month, [Velma Lisa] Duran, 52, marked what would have been her sister's 50th birthday. She no longer expects to see justice on Earth for the police who failed to protect her sister and the officials she believes are shielding them.

"I take confidence in God's wrath," she said.

It's Not About Justice, It's About Winning

There is no justice in this case. Gurnee man exonerated after serving nearly 29 years in prison for murder of ex-wife files lawsuit against officials

“Herman’s wrongful conviction was the result of a fabricated confession, manufactured and concealed evidence, and false testimony by law enforcement, by public servants who abandoned their professional and ethical obligations to falsely acquire this conviction to advance their careers,” the [lawyers] said in a statement.

Forensic evidence that stated a time-window for the murder which was just wrong. The original estimate - more accurate - was NOT provided to the defense. You can give them a pass on the DNA evidence from 30 years ago, but not the rest.

And now the family of the deceased is also left without justice. A 30 year old cold case... I'm sure that will be easy to solve.

The System is a bureaucracy. It protects itself, and it seeks those things that advance the careers of the bureaucrats. Convictions are important. Winning is important. Justice is a distraction. The System sent an innocent man to prison for 29 years because it helped someone advance their career.
