It was such a wonderful city. Woman runs into Macy's after being shot during Christmas festivities in the Loop - CWB Chicago
Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, some of those officers reported hearing gunfire at the corner of State and Washington. They soon found a 19-year-old woman with a gunshot injury.
She ran into Macy’s, 111 North State, for safety after being shot in her upper right leg while standing outside the store on Washington Street, officials said. Cops found shell casings at 6 West Washington, on the opposite side of State Street from the store.
111 North State is the heart of the loop. Macy's is in the old Marshall Field building, which was built in the 1890s.
Witnesses identified a "group of juveniles" who boarded an train bound toward O'Hare.
At about 9:46 p.m., officers recovered a firearm and detained a person of interest in the shooting case near the intersection of Western and Warren on the Near West Side. However, authorities have not yet announced any charges.
Bets on whether or not the shooter does any time? My guess is no. Kim Foxx, AKA Crimesha, AKA State's Attorney for Cook County doesn't like to put people in jail until they actually kill someone.
