HeyJackass! brings us September Wrap-up for Chicago.
September saw the conclusion of the Summer of Silly Decisions that ended up looking a lot like last year’s Summer of Silly Decisions. Working off of those mediocre results, it was then proclaimed that the “defective” and somehow “racist” ShotSpotter was to be decommissioned because reasons. It didn’t take long for bodies to be found come the morning light and it’s only getting started.
The final tally for the month: A total of 49 people were killed, while 253 shot and wounded.
That is both better and worse than the past few years.
September 2023: 50 killed, 232 wounded
September 2022: 76 killed, 301 wounded
September 2021: 102 killed, 402 wounded
