1980s King Crimson to Make a Return (Sort of)

From Live for Live Music we get the following. Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Steve Vai, Danny Carey Announce 2024 Tour Dates For King Crimson Tribute, BEAT [Video]

Both Adrian Belew and Tony Levin were a part of King Crimson in the 1980s.

King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin will celebrate the music of the seminal progressive rock band with a tour this fall alongside a new band featuring drummer Danny Carey (Tool) and guitar wizard Steve Vai. The project, dubbed BEAT, will perform selections from the three albums King Crimson released in the 1980s: Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. Vai also indicated that other choice selections from the band’s discography could show up in setlists.

I am not completely familiar with the 3 albums mentioned. I know a few of the songs, and will be revisiting all of them. Some will show up as musical interludes I'm sure. To be frank, that is not my favorite era of King Crimson music. While some of it is interesting, a lot of it is not. Not to me anyway.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 5th at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

The first show will be in September in San Jose, California. Most of the major cities, and regions are covered. The list of dates is in the article.

As so many of these things do, this started with a Rick Beato video. BEAT: Belew, Vai, Levin and Carey Play 80's King Crimson. The linked article at the top also calls out that video.
