If there is a clearer sign that civilization is breaking down, I don't know what it is. 13-year-old girl accused of killing mom after her phone was taken away, police say
A 13-year-old girl is accused of killing her mom after having her phone taken away on Friday, according to Pennsylvania authorities.
Wilkes-Barre Police responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m., due to reports of an unresponsive woman.
When officers arrived, they found a 44-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds to her neck, back and blood coming from her head
Civilization was nice while it lasted.

Good grief.
You know, since you published this, there hasn't been a day that this story hasn't - at some point - crossed my mind. And all I can think of is what is happening to this world, where a child kills their parent for something so trivial. How many children have become so emboldened to act like this tells me, and maybe I'm wrong, that these kids have never received proper discipline earlier in their lives for their actions. It's sad and sick. Where does this leave us as a society where we have to start hiding knives or hammers from our kids because they might use them to kill their parents. God help us.
ReplyDeleteNot only have they never had any discipline, up to the point where no one has ever even said "no" to them, they have never been taught anything about the sanctity of life.
DeleteRight and Wrong, Good and Evil. These are not things that parents talk about because we are all so "enlightened" that talking about good and evil is too close to talking about God. And we can't do that.
And we shouldn't hide the knives. Because of his job, and the potential for threats that could follow him home, he kept a loaded .38 special in his nightstand. It wasn't hidden. I knew where it was. I knew what it could do. I also knew the difference between right and wrong, good and evil.
DeleteYou don't fix the problem by taking away weapons. There are a lot of rocks, sticks that could be clubs, lengths of pipe, whatever in the world. You can't get rid of every blunt object or even every sharp object.
I wholeheartedly agree. Used the "hide knives, etc" statement only as an analogy.
