That whole "sanctuary city" thing is OK as long as the migrants don't come to their city. Or something. Migrant Shelter At Old South Shore School Could Open Next Week As Neighbors Shout Down City's Meeting On Plans
South Shore is one of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago. It had long been home to the yearly South Shore Jazz Festival, but that stopped about a decade ago.
Frustrations over plans to use the old South Shore High School as a temporary shelter for migrants boiled over during a chaotic meeting that was as much a referendum on the city’s responsiveness to neighbors’ needs as it was a loud rejection of plans.
You can click thru and read the details, or you can watch a short video of some highlights from the fireworks meeting at this link.
It seems that the people of Chicago are not paying attention when the problems are far away. When the problems are closer to home there is more opinion on the subject of illegal immigration.
