There is one aspect of this that really caught my attention. Two Russian Generals Reported Killed as Ukraine Invasion Becomes ‘Clusterf**k’
A pair of Russian generals, Maj. Gen. Vitaly Gerasimov and Maj. Gen. Andrei Sukhovetsky, have reportedly been killed.
The Russians have confirmed that Sukhovetsky was killed Feb. 28 by a Ukrainian sniper near Mariupol, while Gerasimov was reportedly killed Monday near Kharkiv.
Ukraine’s defense ministry released audio of an intercepted call from a Russian intelligence officer that appears to confirm that Gerasimov was killed along with several other senior Russian officers, although the nature of the Ukrainian attack involved is unknown.
I'm a bit surprised that the Russians admitted anything about a general being killed.
And one more thing...
Having two major generals killed in the span of a week is one measure of how badly the Russian invasion has gone, and the fact that their communications are being intercepted is another measure. [My emphasis. Z-Deb]
If you look into the article linked by The Other McCain, there is reference to "civilian" radios, which I take to be open communications without encryption, in captured and destroyed Russian vehicles.
Robert Stacy McCain is doing a fine job of keeping my up to date on the developments of the Ukraine war. Click thru for more on the current situation and a list of his other posts going back to the beginning of the conflict.
