That would be the NSW Fixated Persons Investigation Unit of the NSW police force. It is supposed to be an anti-terrorism unit. It seems to spend a lot of resources on journalists, because the powers-that-be think exposing corruption is akin to terrorism.
From Kangaroo Court of Australia (Why rent a lawyer when you can buy a judge) brings us the latest news from New South Wales very own political police. NSW Police anti-terrorism unit used by politicians, judges and others to intimidate and falsely charge journalists who expose them.
When questioning the actions and motives of politicians and trying to expose corrupt practices in any part of government becomes a crime, then you are no longer talking about a free country. And so New South Wales in Australia...
NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro’s own police statement, which has been leaked to the media, has exposed Barilaro for lying to the media about secretly using a NSW Police anti-terrorism unit to harass and intimidate journalists Jordan Shanks and Kristo Langker who publish the YouTube channel Friendlyjordies.
Which might have something to do with why he suddenly resigned as the Deputy Premier.
The article mostly covers the case of Kristo Langker, an employee of Jordan Shanks. They work on the YouTube channel Friendlyjordies, which has morphed from pure comedy, into making fun of politicians - and exposing some of their shenanigans - which is why the politicians hate them.
It also includes information on the harassment of the author of Kangaroo Court of Australia by NSW Fixated Persons Unit in 2019, because he was writing articles on the corruption in the courts of New South Wales. Doesn't sound too much like terrorism to me, though I'm sure the corrupt officials were terrified of exposure.
There needs to be a public inquiry into the NSW Fixated Persons Investigation Unit to determine how many journalists and other people they are harassing, falsely charging and jailing on behalf of NSW politicians, judges and others. The inquiry has to be conducted publicly and by someone from another state or preferably from another country.
Using police to hunt journalists makes Australia no better than the many countries we like to criticise for their treatment of journalists.
