Wombat-socho got a bit behind last week, and so he had Special Edition post to catch up on all the links. He didn't want to let all those links get stale. I agree.
I also think it's a good idea to highlight all the links in all the link collections around. With F*c*book, et al doing everything to silence the Right, we should all be aware of the fact that there are other avenues for making sure we don't just see the news that the big media outlets, and Big Tech deem are appropriate.
As for the saying/image... We will get to Heavy Metal this afternoon.
And so Wombat-socho at The Other McCain brings us In The Mailbox: 08.14.21 (Saturday Night Special Edition)
Here's a small selection of the links available
American Conservative: The Crisis Of Confidence In America’s Military
American Greatness: DOJ’s “Troubling” Discovery Delays, also, Their Collective Comes For Our Republic
American Power: Biden’s Failure In Afghanistan
American Thinker: The Agenda For Serfdom In The Land Of The Free
Animal Magnetism: Rule Five Mileage Tax Friday
Babalu Blog: The Inhumane Conditions Of Cuba’s “Revolutionary” Healthcare, also, Seventh High-Ranking Cuban Officer Dies In Less Than A Month
As for why the Special Edition... That answer came in his FMJRA 2.0 Post on Saturday.
Normally I’d just blow off a missed Friday night link post, but a lot of people sent stuff in, which you deserve to see tonight and not on Monday morning. So there’ll be a rare Saturday Night In The Mailbox after I get done with this.
Ceterum autem censeo Silicon Valley esse delendam.
And if you don't know what FMJRA stands for, I direct your attention to this defintion, The Other McCain: How to Get a Million Hits on Your Blog in Less Than a Year.
2. The Full Metal Jacket Reach-AroundMaybe you're not a fan of Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket, and I'm not saying you should be. But the psychotic drill sergeant gives a notorious rant in which he colorfully expresses an important life principle: When someone does you a favor, find an opportunity to return the kindness.
Reciprocal linkage is the essential lubricant that makes the blogosphere purr with contentment. If somebody's throwing you traffic, you should either (a) give them a link-back update, or at a minimum (b) keep them in mind for future linkage. Because you don't want to end up on the wrong end of a kharmic unbalance in the 'sphere, where you're always taking and never giving.
