He was given the chance to leave by the guy with the shotgun. He should have taken it. Webster Groves homeowner fatally shoots burglar, police say
[Lt. Andrew Miller of the Webster Groves police] said the man had entered the home from a back door and was confronted by the homeowner. The homeowner, whose name was not released by police, ordered the intruder to get out.
"When the suspect refused to comply with verbal commands to exit the residence, the suspect was shot by the homeowner," Miller said.
The would be bad guy passed away at a local hospital. Missouri has a version of the Castle Doctrine, so the homeowner was not arrested, but the final decision will be made by the prosecutor.
If someone armed with a shotgun gives you a chance to leave, you should take it.
Self-defense is a human-right.
