How Is That Affordable Bail Working Out?

The victims and their families would probably say that it isn't working out very well. And we have three stories in three days.

First up, attempted murder. #34: Man tried to kill woman during 8-minute random attack inside Lincoln Park store, prosecutors say.

A man who was AWOL in a felony stolen motor vehicle case followed a 61-year-old woman into a Lincoln Park store and tried to kill her with his bare hands Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors said. Kenyante Jackson is the 34th person accused of killing, trying to kill, or shooting someone in Chicago this year while on felony bond.

The attack was random. Apparently he just felt like trying to kill someone with his bare hands.

His lawyer says it is all lies, that he was sleeping when cops arrested him. Unfortunately for him there is video.

Next up, murder. #35: Man murdered another in cold blood while on bond for gun case, prosecutors say | CWB Chicago

A man with a pending felony gun case shot and killed another man in cold blood earlier this year, prosecutors said Thursday. When police arrested Larry Hogan this week to face murder charges, he allegedly had a handgun capable of generating automatic gunfire and a 50-round drum-style ammunition magazine in his backpack. He is the 35th person accused of killing, trying to kill, or shooting someone in Chicago this year while on felony bond.

This is the reporting that Mayor Groot (otherwise known as Lori Lightfoot) calls divisive, because the Truth undercuts the narrative that all is well, and bail is unfair. Just turn the criminals loose. What could go wrong?

Murder. That's what can go wrong.

Finally... #36: Uber Eats driver was gunned down in random attack by man who’s on bond for gun case, prosecutors say.

A Chicago man who opened fire on an Uber Eats delivery driver in a completely random attack this week was on bail while awaiting trial for being a felon in possession of a firearm, prosecutors said Saturday. Kye Griffin, 27, is now the 36th person accused of killing, trying to kill, or shooting someone in Chicago this year while on felony bond.

Cops say it is a random attack, but it might be a case of mistaken identity, if they meant to shoot the guy who lived where he was called to deliver food.

The powers that be in Chicago have conspired to create a system in which criminals are not afraid. As Thomas Hobbes noted in 1651, this leads to a State of War, "where every man is enemy to every man," and brings about conditions where "the life of man solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short."

  2. The kinds of policies advocated by people who think that people like the drill instructor in Kubrick's Vietnam epic is a pyscho would advocate. They simply can't deal with reality and live in a fantasy world.
