I want to be shocked, but I'm not. They never actually lock people up until they kill someone.
A gunman who murdered a local government worker in Northern California before cops shot him dead committed several crimes in the weeks before the attack.
Derek Spencer, 44, was detained three times in September — weeks before he killed longtime former Placer County District Attorney’s Office employee Cheryl Macy over the weekend.
He was arrested in Sacramento County, for felony vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest on September 3rd. That should have been enough to hold him for a little while, but keeping people in jail is unfair, or something. He was then arrested on a burglary charge in Folsom County, on September 14th. He was arrested for auto-theft on the 16th. He was released all three times.
Law enforcement officials believe Spencer killed Macy as he ran from law enforcement following further crimes, including pointing a firearm at people in Placer County.
That was either on the 19th or 20th. The time of death was not released.
The Progressive Left will tell you how unfair it is to keep people in jail, and so they don't. How unfair was all of this to Cheryl Macy and her family?
Why aren't judges held responsible for the completely foreseeable consequences of their actions? Oh, that's right; they granted themselves immunity.
