The Mooresville Police Department was conducting an audit of its Flock license plate reader system when it discovered officer Elizabeth Snowman allegedly accessed the system 31 times for personal use, Mooresville Police Chief Ron Campurciani said.
"She accessed the computers, the LPR [license plate reader] cameras, to find information and track her boyfriend's ex-wife," Campurciani said at a news conference Wednesday.
The lack of security is amazing. The officer in question didn't need to be on duty to access the data. Still think you are in favor of Flock? People always say, "If you have nothing to hide..." What did the ex-wife have to hide? Just her constitutionally protected privacy. You have to be doing anything bad to have a stalker.
Mooresville, North Carolina, is roughly a 25 mile drive north of Charlotte.
Snowman, 36, was arrested and charged Wednesday with accessing computers, police said.
