From the Crime Prevention Research Center: New York Times actually runs a positive story about the Citizen who used his gun to stop the mass public shooting at the In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho
Given how incredibly rare it is for the New York Times to give positive news coverage to a civilian who stopped a mass public shooting (and these occur all the time without getting news coverage), you have to give them credit when they do cover such a story.
A pro-gun/pro-gunowner story in the NYT... Surely this is a sign of the End Times. Or something. Maybe Hell has frozen over.

I know people who have concealed carry permits and carry because someything like this can happen and want to be able to respond and help. Pretty much all of them have made the effort to study and understand what to do and practice so they know and are capible of dealing with the situation.
ReplyDeleteThe old saying: when it hits the fan the police are far away applies. The police legally have no duty to protect you. Some will and others won't. It is our responsibility to protect ourselves and others around us.
The best example of cops not doing anything is still Uvalde
