People keep trying to break into Florida homes. Florida homeowner shoots, kills woman outside home in Leesburg, police say | FOX 35 Orlando
Leesburg, Florida, is about a 45 mile drive northwest of downtown Orlando.
According to the Leesburg Police Department, the homeowner told police that he told the woman to leave his property and warned her that he was armed with a gun.
The homeowner told police that he fired his handgun through the door after the woman continued to try and enter his home. The bullet shattered a window. The woman then allegedly reached through the broken window and attempted to open the door from the inside, police said.
It is early in the investigation, and the cops will not make the determination about charges. One of the things that isn't known, or police are not saying, is if the woman who was shot knew someone in the home.
Still, this took place in Florida, not Massachusetts, or New York City, and self-defense is a human right.
