When Does the Fight Against Misogyny Go Too Far?

Many of these adults rely on a contested idea that gender is socially constructed, that masculinity is not a set of natural male traits, but a cultural script that can be edited. Traditional masculinity, rather than time-honoured and real characteristics recurring from one generation of young men to the next: courage, stoicism, honour, risk-taking, loyalty, physicality and hierarchy, is instead framed as generational cycles of the same scripted behaviour. This isn’t to say all these interventionists are hard-bitten ideologues. But even when biological differences are accepted in theory, boys are frequently treated in practice as products of socialisation first and nature second. If the social constructivists were right, Scandinavia should have produced some of the most interchangeable men and women in history. Instead, after decades of gender-neutral policies, many differences remained persistent, and some grew larger – the exact opposite of what the social constructivists hoped for.

The simplifications are amazing, and realities ignored.

And of course a backlash is evident.

This isn’t to say all these interventionists are hard-bitten ideologues.

No. It isn't 100 percent. But it is well above 85 percent. The VAST majority of the people designing these "interventions" are the typical Social Justice Warriors, who want to remake the world according to their prejudices.
