Ellen Glickman is apparently a professor at Kent State University. She called 911 because she "needed to get into her building" on campus. (Her building?) She ended up arrested because she was intending to drive while the officers could smell alcohol on her. Along the way she resisted arrest. It went to court, and even after the court, she wanted to "speak to their supervisor," and when he didn't give her the satisfaction she demanded, she wanted to speak to the chief of the department.
So does the entitlement come from being a typical Karen, or is it special brand of University Professor entitlement?
The 911 call is interesting in itself. The dispatcher (or whoever) tells her REPEATEDLY to call the non-emergency number of Kent State. She repeats, at a louder volume, "I need to get into my building." It goes downhill from there.
She was charged with Disorderly Conduct due to intoxication, but the charges were dismissed after community service and paying court costs. So it turns out she did have some level of entitlment.

'university professor' infers sense of entitlement, aka, elitist thinking.
ReplyDeleteThis past weekend I remembered a meeting which had happened circa 2003.
On a hill, rugged and isolated, used as an informal shooting range, me and another were sighting in rifles and generally punching paper. That place had been a range for longer than the 20 yrs I'd been going there.
In all that time I saw only infrequently a 4 wheeler come past. Never had I seen before that day, say a university professor on horseback leading a group on an outing. I saw them while still afar so we stopped shooting.
When within hailing distance I said hello. Hisself answered, You shouldn't be up here. I am a university professor. Apparently that's what his momma named him. That is how he identified himself.
Increasingly heated conversation followed. The heat was all him. I gathered that he did not like that I did not kow tow to his alleged authority. He said he will report us to the athorities. It was unclear who exactly would they be. So I asked. Why, the university regents, of course. I laughed. Said he, The university owns this land. I replied, the university owns the canyon below but only to 400 agl. We're clearly more than four times that elevation.
Some in his group had begun to ride off. The agitation in his face increased as he saw he was losing his charge. He broke and galloped off to again take lead position.
Such people deserve to be laughed at every day.
