The incident took place on the 16th of October.
He broke into a jewelry store, and was met by the owner who was armed.
The store was both his place of business and his residence. That seems to me (not a lawyer) to be the most important point.

Canton is a waterfront neighborhood in Baltimore.
Self-defense is a human right, but prosecutors in Blue Cities, don't always see it as a legitimate legal right. Congrats to the people of Baltimore for having at least a little sanity in the Criminal Justice System.
