When you know that your family is in the home. ‘Worst night of my life': Homeowner speaks after fatally shooting alleged intruder
A homeowner says he was forced to defend himself and his family during a attempted break-in that ended with one man dead Saturday night, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.
The homeowner did give an interview to the press.
“It’s unfortunate. It’s the worst night of my life,” the homeowner told NBC6.
The point is that 4 guys tried to get into an occupied home in Florida, a place where you can expect a very large percentage for people to armed for their own defense. It isn't a good place to be a bad guy.
Cops arrived to find the one guy with a gunshot wound. They had him taken to a hospital, but he did not survive.
Kendall, Florida is an unincorporated part of Miami-Dade County. It is about a 20 mile drive southwest of downtown, or about a 15 mile drive south of Miami International Airport.
The other three guys ran, because that is what they do. Cops are still searching for them.
Self-defense is a human right. And this took place in Florida.

I am hopefully prepared enough for one or more home invaders. While home during the day (like right now) and in the evening I am carrying a full size handgun with two spare mags and a fixed blade. That is sitting inside or outside working around the homestead and everywhere I go. A guy in a town nearby was butchered outside his home while doing yard work unarmed by a nut job on a motorcycle with a samurai sword. I have been called a nut for packing a pistol mowing my yard even AFTER that happened. At night at home while sleeping, a laser/light combo equipped full size handgun with one spare mag and a folding blade is a foot from my head on my night table. The alarm is set and the dogs are sleeping in our room.
ReplyDeleteLater today I will be going to my brother's home for Thanksgiving. There may be FOUR armed people at that gathering; me, my brother, his wife (maybe), and a family friend Kevin. It'll be the safest place in the neighborhood.
My condolences to the guy who suffered the worst night of his life. The memories will haunt him. BUT, the right guy Lived and his family is safe. I hope he finds comfort in knowing he did what needed done.
ReplyDeleteThe S&W 65 is in the shoulder holster next to my jacket on the coat rack. The 10mm is in the end table next to my recliner. His call.
