Things didn't work out. Rapper Glizzy The Tweaker fatally shot during Chicago robbery attempt on 19th birthday
Chicago drill rapper Mekhi Moore, known professionally as Glizzy The Tweaker, was killed on September 26, 2025, during what police say was a botched robbery attempt in the city’s Chatham neighborhood. He was 19 years old.
So why is it important that he was a rapper, or why is his age important? "Legal adult dies while breaking the law." I guess that wouldn't be as impressive a headline.
Authorities said Moore, along with at least three others, allegedly attempted to rob a construction worker at a renovation site. The worker, who was legally licensed to carry a concealed firearm, reportedly fired four shots in self-defense, striking Moore. The other suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.
The construction worked was questioned, but not charged, because Illinois law does allow for concealed carry and self-defense.
Self-defense is a human right, and it might be your legal right in Illinois, though you can never be sure.
