7-Eleven Wants Defenseless Employees

This is a travesty of Justice. No one should shop at these stores. "You have a right to defend yourself." 7-Eleven clerk fired after shooting attacker

She refused to accept a counterfeit $100 bill, so he attacked her, and kept her from calling 911.

While he had his hands wrapped around her throat, she shot him.

So of course 7-Eleven fired her. They apparently think it would be better if she was dead, than that she shot her attacker.

Police confirmed that Dilyard is protected under Oklahoma's self-defense law.

However, she was terminated by 7-Eleven on Monday for using her own gun. "They said that they were going to separate from employment because of a violation of policy," Dilyard said.

The guy who got shot ran out of the store and called 911.

Thompson was arrested at the hospital and charged with assault and battery, threatening acts of violence, attempting to pass a fake bill, and a felony warrant for violating parole.

I hope she is hired by someone with better policies on self-defense.

  1. Itr not just 7/11. It's ALL corporate employers. To the brass you are NOT a person. You are a tool to generate profits. If you die or are killed on the job they have insurance to cover that. However if you defend yourself on the job the criminal or their family will likely sue costing the corporation a LOT of money. And THAT is all that matter to the criminals running the company. It's all about the money....nothing else matters...not even your life.

  2. I live in a State of Idaho "try that in my small town" very small town and I'm very friendly with my one and only local 711 clerks. They like me a lot. A few months ago the Nation of India bubba asked me to draw back my jacket so he could take a cellphone camera picture of my large frame .45 I carry in shoulder harness and also my small frame compact .45 I wear in belt holster. Told me "whenever you come in we all feel very safe".

  3. @Dan:

Corporate gave a big clue when personnel offices were renamed Human Resources. You sign away several rights when you accept that employment offer. Second and Fourth come to mind immediately.

  4. Don’t tell my boss’s boss but I’m always packing at work. Boss knows. Better to be judged by twelve……
