Republican police officers have been cancelled for less. There was the officer with cancer who fund-raised with a modified Thin Blue Line shirt. One hospital employee was butthurt. There was the Plain View Project which specifically targeted police officers who made Wrongthink posts, which resulted in, for instance, 200 Philly officers being disciplined. And so many other examples. Here’s an officer who was fired for making terrible remarks about a woman’s death. Is that cancel culture, or, just someone who really shouldn’t be in the position? Because some things are ridiculous cancel culture, and some are being responsible.

And I'm sure that people will be, "But free speech! She should be able to say what she wants!" And I agree. But that means you can't fire/discipline cops who say stuff that you don't like, that spew stuff that offends you. Which I would be fine with really if you applied the criteria impartially. It would never be.
There was a university professor - I don't recall the university off the top of my head - who was recently fired for saying there are only 2 genders. Fired because the Left objected. So apply the criteria evenly or not at all. And I don't think anyone is ready for the "not at all" situation.
