Officers seized a ballpoint pen that had been turned into a .22 caliber zip gun, together with one round of ammunition.

The signs mandating that the schools are gun free zones, are somehow failing to work. Perhaps we should try something aside from wishing really hard... Wishing that criminals would start obeying the law.
We know how to secure locations. Airports, sporting arenas, government buildings that are not schools, and more are secure. Why don't we secure schools? Because liberals want school shootings to happen, so they can push their agenda.
None of those other venues are actually secure either. Someone just got into the stadium where they are having the Charlie Kirk memorial with a gun. TSA routinely misses guns that are brought in by people testing the system. We have had graphic examples of just how safe public transit is. Truth is that leftist want shootings in all those places to push their agenda.
