Bubbles of Useless Research

"Trust the science" is a phrase that can be uttered only by two kinds of people:

1. People who know nothing about science
2. Researchers who are engaged in fraud

So much of research is nonsense. Academic researchers know it is nonsense. It is just that they find the academic life comfortable. Researchers pretend their work will answer the deep questions of the universe, at least when they are asking for more funds, but they can't even define what the experiements are looking for in some cases.

This is Sabine Hossenfelder's video I was asked to keep this confidential. This title to my post is a quote from the video. Ms. Hossenfelder has a lot to say about the nonsense that passes for scientific research today, but she has the most to say about the researchers who are spending 100s of millions of taxpayer funds on what they know is nonsense.

Your problem is not that I am “making noise”. Your problem is that you are lying to the people who pay you. Your problem is that you’re cowards without a shred of scientific integrity. Your problem is that every bubble eventually bursts. By the way the reason I now call it nonsense research and no longer bull**** research is that YouTube flags the latter as profanity. And we don’t want to be profane on this channel, that would be abso-f***ing-lutely terrible.
