Chicago's Mayor Didn't Think Shot Spotter Was Worth the Price

27 people who've been shot, or the families of the 11 who have died, might disagree. Dying gunshot victim sat in double-parked car for at least 2 hours before being discovered on a block that used to be monitored by ShotSpotter - CWB Chicago

For more than two hours, a gunshot victim sat dead or dying inside an SUV on a Gage Park street Tuesday evening. His body was only discovered after a resident called 911 to complain because the vehicle had been running, double-parked, and occupied for so long.

They complained about a double-parked vehicle, not about shots fired or a dead guy.

And do you think the Democratic party cares about what the people think?

[Alderman Ray] Lopez was part of a two-thirds City Council majority that tried to convince Johnson to keep ShotSpotter in place. The city’s top cop, Larry Snelling, consistently spoke in favor of the service, and 70% of Chicago residents wanted Johnson to keep ShotSpotter in place, according to a poll taken before he pulled the plug.

But he apparently wanted to give that money to one of his patrons. Probably the teachers union.

But the Democrats have a lock on Chicago, and the party will do what the party wants.
