Concealed carry and Self-defense are really becoming a thing in Illinois. Man killed in Schiller Park road rage shootout ID'd; CCL holder fired in self-defense, police say
Schiller Park police responded to a shooting, and found two people with gunshot wounds. One died.
"After reviewing all evidence, along with interviews of involved individuals and witnesses, it was decided, along with the State's Attorney's Office, that no charges would be brought against the second individual involved as it was determined that he acted in self-defense and possessed a valid FOID and CCL," a statement from the Schiller Park Police Department read in part.
Schiller Park, Illinois is a village in Cook County, just touching the southeast corner of O'Hare Airport. It is about 15 miles from The Loop, though it will take you at least 25 minutes to drive there.
Neighbors were shocked, of course, because even though they are only 15 miles from the insanity that has engulfed Chicago, they feel certain that they are protected by their zip code. (They are not.)
This whole concealed carry thing is really taking hold in Illinois.
