Quite a bit, or so it seems to me. Paroled 8-time felon had gun, meth, fentanyl, cocaine, pot, and heroin in a stolen car, prosecutors say - CWB Chicago
Eight felony convictions seems like a lot. Still he was on parole for the latest conviction when he was stopped by police for a traffic stop.
He is now charged with Class X armed habitual criminal, Class X armed violence, manufacture-delivery of cocaine, manufacture-delivery of fentanyl, manufacture-delivery of heroin, manufacture-delivery of cannabis, manufacture-delivery of another substance, manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He’s also charged with misdemeanor driving on a revoked license.
Given his 8 prior convictions and his parole violation, the judge held him without bail on public safety grounds. Which is amazing, because Illinois almost never holds someone before murder charges are brought against them.
So how is that Criminal Justice reform working out? Or is considering recidivism now considered racist or something?
