One of the big talking points during Kathy Hochul's campaign for governor was how racist it was to suggest that New York City is a crime-ridden cesspool. Even though it is. Violent crime in the city was just a white-supremacist, Republican talking point, she said, and that the city was one of the safest places in the country. Which must be exactly why she is now deploying the National Guard to search subway passengers for weapons, as part of her crackdown on crime.
