Classical Gas

So I was introduced to an old electronic artist by Wombat-socho this week, Synergy. Larry Fast released a lot of his early stuff under that name.

Larry Fast, who released most of his music under the name Synergy, is one of the electronic music scene’s forgotten people. Starting in 1975 with Electronic Realizations For Rock Orchestra, he released eleven albums of music that fell somewhere between the classical-influenced work of Klaus Schulze and the shorter, more Europop stuff that Tangerine Dream was doing in their later years.

While some of it is a bit intense for this early in the morning, a familiar song, reinterpreted, should not be too much to take before the coffee kicks in.

This is "Classical Gas" as interpreted by Synergy from his second album Sequencer, which came out in 1976. (It was also included in the 2nd "best of" collection, Semi-Conductor, Release 2.)
