This is the guy who was attacked as he walked to his front door, by bad guys who jumped over his gate. Armed homeowner who defended home in shootout unloads on liberal politicians: 'not gonna care'
The situation in Los Angeles is not good.
"Every single person that I know has gotten stuck up," LA entrepreneur Vince Ricci told Fox News Digital this week. "It’s not normal."
Ricci said he was returning to his gated Los Angeles home Saturday evening after hitting the gym when two armed men jumped his fence and tried to force their way into his home.
Law and Order is gone from LA. And you only have the security that you can provide for yourself. (More on that below.)
You should click thru and read everything he has to say. While I did cover this incident when it was first reported, the link at the top is complete, in that it does include the 45 second video of the encounter. And his comments.
The link to my previous post does include Colion Noir's video commentary on the incident. If you haven't seen that, and you have 8 minutes to spare, it is worth a look.
This situation and the commentary by the guy forced to defend himself bring to mind Hobbes and his classic work Leviathan. In that book he describes what he calls "the State of War" that ensues when law and order break down. A war of every man against every man. A war in which you have no security except what you can provide for yourself.
Western Civilization is built on a foundation of law and order. Without law and order, you can't have nice things. You can't have anything really. Or as Hobbes stated it, when there is no force-of-law to keep people in check, things break down.
The man who was attacked, Vince Ricci, is an entrepreneur. He already has a gate around his property, which failed to provide any security. He has a wife and 5 month old. Will he stay in LA? He was able to defend himself, and by extension his family, this time. Is he willing to bet that he will be able to do so again? What if there are more people involved in the next attack? Will he want his family to face a similar situation? What if this makes him decide to leave LA, and take his business, and its tax revenue, with him?
I suppose that if or when he does leave LA, and takes his tax revenue with him, LA politicians will lament the cruel nature of capitalism, and the racist nature of business, or something.
Well, if it's happening to everyone, it's Become
