The gun-hating part of the Left loves to go on, at length, about how it is more likely that you will shoot someone you know than that you will shoot a perfect stranger. There is a reason for that. Home invasion leads to shooting on Boulevard Street
Officials say the homeowner shot the intruder. They sustained a non-life-threatening injury to the leg and were taken to an area hospital. SPD says the resident and the intruder knew each other.
You are more likely to come into conflict with someone you know. The fact that you know them, doesn't make them a friend, or "safe." They may be the crazy neighbor, or the creepy guy from your favorite coffee shop, or a coworker who is morphing into a stalker. Just because you know them, doesn't mean that they are harmless.
It turns out that this is actually a domestic violence situation. Intruder shot after breaking into Highland home
They say an ex-boyfriend who was armed with a knife and a bat briefly got inside. Police say that's when a man in the home shot the intruder in the leg.
And self-defense is a human-right, even if you know the person who has become a threat.
