He Was Given a Chance

He could have walked away. Ashford man killed in self-defense: Police

Dothan, Alabama is a small city about 100 miles southeast of Montgomery, Alabama.

DPD said 55-year-old Charles Kevin Sexton, of Ashford, went to the house looking for his ex-girlfriend.

Police claim Sexton kicked several doors down, eventually finding the ex-girlfriend and assaulting her.

The homeowner tried to get him to stop assaulting the woman. He wouldn't do that, so the homeowner shot him. He died a short time later at a local hospital.

"It's over!" That is a sentence that a lot of people need to learn. People should also remember that you are not automatically the most dangerous person in any given situation. I suppose those two things come under the heading of Asking for too much.

No charges are being filed be cause self-defense is a human-right, and apparently it is also your legal right in Alabama.
