From Pixy Misa at Ambient Irony. Daily News Stuff 8 July 2023: Red Velvet Rhubarb Edition
So F*c*book produced a clone of Twitter. Sort of. But there is no news allowed. No news. No reaction to news. No questions about news. Whether economic or political or military or financial or ... News is so devisive. Let's just talk about sports and food and movies (I wonder if negative opinions, or financial info about movies would be allowed, or would that be news?) In other words, commercial content.
No news, just content. No opinions. Just consume.
Consume, be silent, die. Your only remaining freedom is to choose the order in which you fulfil those tasks.
Oh, and also give up the last vestiga of your privacy to F*c*book.
Your only remaining freedom: Threads is a privacy nightmare, and has no plans for an EU launch because it breaks at least three hundred different laws there. (Tech Crunch)
And they are not kidding around. The kinds of data they want to harvest about you is quite a bit.
...including health and financial data, precise location, browsing history, contacts, search history and other sensitive information. [Ref. Tech Crunch]
I agree with Pixy Misa on this one.
That's gonna be a no from me, Zuckerdawg.
And you should read the whole thing, as it is entertaining.
