A colleague of mine, David Zehrung, is a psychologist practicing in Pennsylvania. He will be speaking this month to the Pennsylvania Psychological Association about firearms. He asked me to provide a 3-minute overview of what I’d like psychologists to know about gun owners. I put together a 5-minute version for “Light Over Heat” this week.
The version of the video at the link, includes a short (30 second or so) intro, and then the video that will be shown at that presentation to that association. He covers demographics of gun owners, and the changing demographics of new gun owners (2019 to 2021). In new gun owners, the changing demographics is reflected in the fact that 48% are female.
In addition to the 5 minute video which is his topic this week, Professor Yamane also provides links past talks, and essays on the various subjects he studies around (and in) Gun Culture 2.0.
