It took him a while to decide that self-defense is legal in Texas. Murder charge dismissed against shooter in Fort Worth slaying of Jin Shin
Tarrant County, Texas is home to Fort Worth. It is just west of Dallas.
He was tried and convicted in the court of the media, even in Texas. The grand jury returned an indictment in December, but the DA had to acknowledge the facts in the case.
“A review of evidence in the case shows that after a minor traffic accident and disagreement, Shin retrieved a handgun and pointed at those present,” the [Tarrant County] DA’s office said in a written statement. “West, in defense of himself and others, fired his weapon at Shin, resulting in Shin’s death.”
The lawyer for Mr. West had this to say.
“My guy got his gun and he saved lives,” Pamplin said. “It’s a stressful thing being portrayed in the media as a murderer.”
Self-defense is a human-right.
