The Other McCain starts things off today with What Joe Biden Wants

Here is something Biden and his media allies never mention: Most shootings don’t involve “assault weapons,” or rifles of any kind, for that matter. The vast majority of shootings are committed with pistols, with 9mm and .40-caliber semiautomatics being the most common weapons used in shootings. So-called “mass shootings” are rare incidents, accounting for only a tiny fraction of the roughly 26,000 homicides in the United States in 2021. Most homicides are either domestic disputes or associated with inner-city gangs engaged in drug trafficking. Moreover, homicide is geographically concentrated.

We Are The Mighty - That time a decorated Army Ranger became a world-renowned pastor

Dr. Jeff Struecker is well-known for his evangelical work as a pastor, author and speaker. But before he did all of that, he was a Range

Juvat at Chant du Départ - Excitement all 'Round

Well, Campers...It's been an excellent week at Rancho Juvat this past seven or so days. Even after a long return from our Wine Cruise down the Danube river with our Winemaker and Winedrinker friends last week. All ramifications from a broken British Airways jet in Budapest and running through subsequent airports were cured with a 16 hour sleep session. We have now reset our nocturnal clocks to coincide with the sun's orbit.

Meep - Will there be a state and municipal public finance bailout?

Detroit got shoved into bankruptcy after losing 25% of its population, plus some outright criminality from top city officials, plus the state taking over the finances of the city to force it into Chapter 9 proceedings.

Puerto Rico has been a financial basket case for a long time for a variety of reasons, including being shot through with corruption (though this is probably a result of the mess of its governance, similar to New Jersey. (and don’t ask about New York… or Chicago))

Wombat-socho - Rule 5 Sunday: Sanna Marin

Finnish politician Sanna Marin is in the news again as the Finns voted for a pair of conservative/nationalist parties over Marin’s Social Democrats in this weekend’s elections, which means Marin’s term as Prime Minister is over. Marin gained notoriety as the youngest Prime Minister in Finnish history, and also in a pair of incidents pertaining to clubbing during the COVID panic and a revealing photoshoot that some thought demeaned her office.

From The Other McCain again - Brain-Damaged John Fetterman Gets ‘Democrat Helper’ Served by CBS News

But the real problem — the reason Fetterman should resign, to allow Pennsylvania to have functional representation in the Senate — is that his cognitive abilities (which perhaps were never stellar) have been so impaired as to leave him unable even to speak coherently or process information. And what CBS did to conceal this was to carefully edit Paulie’s interview with Fetterman, using an obvious trick: Two cameras were used in the interview, one with a tight close-up of Fetterman, and the second with a wider shot, and whenever Fetterman speaks, they cut between the two shots, as if this is being done to add visual interest to the interview, rather than to edit out moments of babbling incoherence.

The Post Millenial - EXCLUSIVE: Seattle refusing to rehire firefighters terminated over vax mandate despite dire staffing shortage

Despite a massive staffing shortage that continues to cause units to be "browned out," the Seattle Fire Department is still refusing to rehire firefighters who were terminated after refusing to get the COVID vaccine.

The Zelman Partisans - “The Majority Of The People Think”

Cognitively challenged Uncle Gropey Biden purports to know what all Americans think. He doesn’t know what he thinks, even with a teleprompter. (This is the senile, serial plagiarist, serial fabulist who just mistook two pistols and a pistol caliber carbine for two select-fire AK-47 assault rifles.)
