I've been trying to ignore this story as just another tragedy, but now there is something I can't ignore. Superintendent of Virginia school district where six-year-old shot his teacher in the chest is FIRED | Daily Mail Online
At Wednesday's press conference, [Diane] Toscano [teacher Abigail Zwerner's attorney] said: 'On that day, over the course of a few hours, three different times - three times - the school administration was warned by concerned teachers and employees that the boy had a gun on him at the school and was threatening people.
'But the administration could not be bothered.
'This tragedy was entirely preventable if the school administrators responsible for school safety had done their part and taken action when they had knowledge of imminent danger.
What. The. Fuck.
You can't be bothered about a student with a gun? You can't be bothered to call 911, or intervene yourself? What? you had MORE IMPORTANT things to do? Or were you hoping for a bloodbath so you could be famous? What?
At a Newport News school board meeting on Wednesday evening, Superintendent Dr. George Parker III was fired.
So one administrator was fired, and one resigned.
Whoever was warned and did nothing should be charged with something. Sadly felony stupidity is not a crime they can be charged with, but negligence might be something.
'Were they not so paralyzed by apathy, they could have prevented this tragedy,' [Toscano] added.
No doubt.
Of course the guy who got fired is suing, because "it's not fair," or something.
