I think she did what she had to do. Alabama woman shoots, kills estranged husband breaking into her home, sheriff says
A Russell County woman shot her husband Saturday morning as he was trying to force his way into her home, according to authorities.
OK, so "estranged husband" not ex-husband.
Doner’s wife, who shot him, was in the process of reinstating a restraining order on him that had expired about a week before.
Cops found him with one gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a local hospital.
Police believe that this is a case of self-defense, but it will be referred to a grand jury.
Self-defense is a human-right, and if you need a court order of protection, then you also need a plan for your personal safety.
