It can cause you to break into apartments that are not your own. 'Cheer' Star Cassadee Dunlap's Father Shot Multiple Times, In Critical Condition
Deputies identified the homeowner as Joshua Womack, who told the cops Ronald [Dunlap] tried to enter his apartment at around 3:00 a.m. ET when he was fast asleep. Womack said after hearing a loud bang at his door, he woke up and grabbed his gun.
"I heard a big, loud thud through the front door," Womack said. "The door was actually knocked off the hinges. With that, he ended up bum-rushing it. It wasn't like an accidental walk-in."
Or what would you do if a stranger broke into your home at 3 in the morning?
This is surely a tragedy, though the guy who broke into the wrong apartment (he was apparently in the wrong apartment complex) is in stable condition and expected to survive.
And is this really only news because his daughter is famous?
I'm not sure, but I think the moral of the story might be something like, "Don't get so blind drunk that you break into someone else's home." In a state like Arkansas, it won't go well for you. Though it could be, "If your key doesn't work in a door, consider the possibility that you are in the wrong place." I know. That means admitting that you might make a mistake.
Self-defense is a human-right.
