The End of the Archives 1.0

Google/Blogger have decided to be idiots.

They have decided to make my life difficult because websites I linked to 15 years ago are no longer what I linked to.

Why was your blog post unpublished?

Your content has violated our Malware and Viruses policy. Please visit our Community Guidelines page linked in this email to learn more.

"My content" is a link to another website in a post from 2006.

Color me shocked that links are broken from 15 years ago.

Now it could be a troll looking through old posts, hoping to stir up trouble. Because that is what trolls do.

Anyway I have had to remove access to the Archives 1.0, at least for the time being. Because I don't have time to scrub links going back to 2004 or so.

  1. They're supposed to have all these super genius types working for them. Top Men, you might say. The internet changes? I'm shocked!

It's not uncommon for, eh, vermin to scoop up once popular domains and repurpose them for evil.

I can see why they would want to remove any links to sites containing malware, but their generic message sucks. As if you intentionally linked to a bad site. Over a decade ago.
